Maki Ohguro’s famous and popular songs

Let me introduce songs by Maki Ohguro, a female singer who represents the 1990s.

Maki Ohguro began her career as a singer in 1989, but at first she could only work as a backing vocalist for other artists and endured a difficult apprenticeship period.

She made her solo debut in 1992 with “STOP MOTION,” but it reportedly didn’t sell very well.

However, her second single, “DA・KA・RA,” became a major hit, and from there she advanced on the path to becoming a popular singer.

Her powerful vocal ability—one of her greatest charms—may well be the result of those years of groundwork.

Now, please listen to the songs of Maki Ohguro, an artist with an overwhelming vocal presence.

Since 2010, Maki Ohguro had been battling illness and took a hiatus from her activities, but she made a comeback last year, in 2015.

This song became the theme for the long-beloved Thursday drama “Kasouken no Onna.” While tinged with sadness, it also blends in a pop feel, making it a track that showcases Maki Ohguro’s positive side.

For the sake of the one she loves, she works hard at cooking and keeps her hairstyle and clothes modest—overflowing with girlish feelings.

It’s a love song where you can almost see hearts everywhere.

Maki Ohguro once took a break from her singing career to undergo medical treatment, but although she may not be completely cured, she resumed her activities around 2014 when recovery seemed likely.

That’s wonderful to hear.

Harlem NightDaikoku Maki

Surprisingly, this is actually my favorite song.

I often sing it at karaoke.

It’s a cool and powerful song.

Thinking about it now, I realize the lyrics are pretty intense, but back then, even though I was still a student, I used to sing it a lot.

I think it was because the rhythm was catchy and it felt good to sing.

I like this song too and used to sing it all the time at karaoke.

For me, it’s a classic.

The beginning is tricky, but the chorus is wonderful and the song has a gentle, mellow feel.

It’s a mature track with a seductive vibe.

I love the chorus part.

It’s a powerful and slightly erotic song.

Ne! ~Woman, Passion~Daikoku Maki

Both the lyrics and the composition were done by big sister Ooguro, and I remember being impressed that she could create a song like this.

It’s a catchy track that really suits her singing style.

It was also used in a commercial.

The title is straightforward, but the song itself is one you can listen to over and over, isn’t it?
