Famous and popular songs from fairy tales
Let me introduce songs by Otogibanashi, a four-piece rock band.
Their music carries a gentle mood while also having a pop sensibility.
It has a somewhat nostalgic feel, with lyrics that slip in softly and effortlessly, and the distinctive vocal delivery further heightens the atmosphere.

Fairy Tale Masterpieces and Popular Songs (1–10)
THANK YOUotogibanashi

This song is from the 6th single, “THANK YOU/This is just a Healing song.” In this music video, it starts with the lead guitarist showing up late, followed by mistakes from the guitar-vocalist and then the lead guitarist again, and the practice vibe keeps getting worse and worse.
Coincidentally, Singalong Parade’s “Sumanai” came to mind (though of course this was released earlier).
While enjoying the song itself is a given, I think appreciating the opening is also one way to enjoy it.

The B-side track of their 8th single, “COSMOS.” The music video uses an anime style with artwork that feels somewhat nostalgic, which pairs very well with this rock ’n’ roll song.
When you consider it alongside the lyrics, “Even if you become outdated, stay by my side and cry,” it becomes quite moving.
weekendotogibanashi

This song, which closes out the 4th album “HOKORI,” is under two minutes long, but despite its simplicity it has a distinctive depth.
Lead guitarist Ushio says, “It’s a song I love that would absolutely never be a single.” Apparently, he played the guitar solo with “Karappo” in mind.
The solo’s tantalizingly drawn-out phrasing is part of its charm.

Peter Rabbitotogibanashi

This track is included on the 5th album, BIG BANG ATTACK.
It kicks off with an incredibly catchy guitar and keeps that energy going throughout.
Along the way, there are mysterious sounds that make you feel as if you’ve been transported to another world.
It’s a sound you don’t hear much in the current music scene.
ANIMALotogibanashi

This is a song included on Otogibanashi’s 4th album, “HOKORI.” It’s an impressive track with the band’s signature laid-back vocals and a soft, gentle atmosphere.
The fairy-tale-like lyrics are also part of its charm.
It’s the kind of song you’ll want to listen to while taking a leisurely stroll on a sunny afternoon.
AND YOUNGotogibanashi

They’re usually a band known for their sharp, jagged sound, but this track has an exceptionally soft tone.
If anything, the lead guitar can be a touch piercing.
Each actor in the video matches the lyrics perfectly with their actions, so the words naturally stick with you as you listen.
GALAXYotogibanashi

From the guitar feedback, a heart-pounding guitar riff comes in on the four-count of the hi-hat.
It’s a track where gritty, indescribably flavorful vocals intertwine with a rock guitar sound.
There are parts that may feel a bit abrasive, so it’s likely a song people will either love or hate.
