At the Q&A event for Pokémon GO by Game Freak × Nintendo × Niantic Labs at E3 2016, the world’s largest game trade show held in June 2016, the following was stated.
"I'm in charge of both sound effects and music," they said. "Since this time it's a game where you move by walking, we've put a lot of emphasis on conveying the feeling of movement and the tempo."
I think speeding up the music’s tempo makes you walk faster, and since walking faster is apparently healthier… haha, I’ve researched it and set the tempo a bit quicker.
I see—you’re envisioning an actual gameplay situation, and above all, it seems you’re placing great importance on the game’s core concept of “going outside!”
Sometimes it can take a day or two just to create one sound, but I don’t mind it (haha).
Even when I hear the sound of a door opening, or a cat meowing, and of course people’s voices too—I can see the waveform! (Is this an occupational hazard? lol)
