Classic songs about proposals: Recommended popular tracks (41–50)
To be happyNagayama Miho
It was released in 1993 as Miho Nakayama’s 26th single.
The song was used as the theme for the NHK morning drama series “Eenyobo,” and this was the first time Miho Nakayama provided a theme song for a show in which she did not appear.
The lyrics, which say that no one can take the place of the one you love, are very cute and make you feel warm.
Together forever…GLAY

It was released in 1995 as GLAY’s fifth single.
It’s a re-cut single from their first album, SPEED POP, and the song was written by TAKURO for TERU’s sister, who was getting married.
Although it’s one of GLAY’s early ballads, it remains consistently popular, and it’s a moving ballad with lyrics about living together forever as a couple.
SAY YESCHAGE and ASKA

It was released in 1991 as CHAGE and ASKA’s 27th single.
The song was used as the theme for Fuji TV’s Monday 9 p.m.
drama “The 101st Proposal,” became their first No.
1 on the Oricon singles chart, and achieved double million-seller status.
It is one of CHAGE and ASKA’s signature songs.
I WISHMAY’S

Released in 2009 as MAY’S fourth single.
It was used as the image song for the wedding dress brand “Aya na ture,” produced by Ayana Sakai, and is a wedding song filled with love and hope.
The lyrics are written from the perspective of a bride getting married, making it a proposal song from a woman’s point of view.
Osaka LoverDREAMS COME TRUE

It was released in 2007 as DREAMS COME TRUE’s 38th single.
The song was written specifically for Universal Studios Japan’s attraction “Hollywood Dream – The Ride,” and its protagonist is a woman in a long-distance relationship.
It’s a fun, quintessentially DCT track that warmly portrays a cute woman nudging her boyfriend—who won’t quite suggest living together—into proposing herself.
In conclusion
I introduced songs with the theme of proposals.
My impression was that many of them conveyed feelings in a straightforward way.
Some also depicted the struggles surrounding responsibilities and anxieties.
A proposal is also an incredibly nerve‑racking moment.
So if you’re about to propose, these songs might give you courage.
I hope you and your partner can listen to the songs I introduced and deepen your bond.
