When it comes to Western rock bands that are most widely known in Japan and enjoy enduring popularity across generations, Queen is the first name that comes to mind.

In the 1970s, they were even more explosively popular in Japan than in their home country of the UK, which even led to the creation of songs that incorporated Japanese lyrics.

Though Queen came to an end with the death of their absolute frontman, Freddie Mercury, they are now, in the 2020s, energetically active with the exceptionally talented singer Adam Lambert.

Thanks in part to the biographical film Bohemian Rhapsody, they have many younger fans as well.
