Last updated:

She’s famous as a popular voice actress, but she’s also beloved by many fans for her outstanding singing ability.

With a voice that’s both clear and powerful, she has earned broad support and released many hit songs.

We’ve compiled a ranking of her most popular tracks, which we’d like to introduce here.

Minori Chihara’s Most Popular Songs Ranking [2026] (1–10)

Hare Hare YukaiHirano Aya, Chihara Minori, Goto Yuko1rank/position

Hare Hare Yukai is the ending theme of the TV anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.

This song uses a canon progression in E-flat major.

The key progression is E♭ → B♭ → Cm7 → A♭ → B♭, which feels like an arrangement that omits the middle part of a typical canon progression.

It’s a very pleasant arrangement to listen to! It’s also interesting that such an up-tempo anime song uses a canon progression.

You could say that the fact it fits so many kinds of songs is exactly the charm of the canon progression.

Minori Chihara’s clear, transparent vocals gently convey a message of love and support.

Released in January 2018, it drew attention as the ending theme for the anime Violet Evergarden.

The song’s structure—unfolding from a quiet piano introduction into a grand orchestral arrangement—is also captivating.

It’s a recommended track for those who want to feel the ties with someone important or who enjoy emotionally moving stories.

A number by Minori Chihara, the voice actress best known for playing Yuki Nagato in the Haruhi Suzumiya series.

It was used as the theme song for the anime Ga-Rei: Zero, based on the original work by Hajime Segawa.

The powerful vocals characteristic of a voice actress and the harmony with the dramatic strings really amp up the excitement.

While the strings play a prominent melody, they never interfere with Chihara’s vocals, instead elevating the song immensely.

It’s a short song just under a minute, perfect as a filler track.

Since it’s an insert song from “Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere” and its melody is almost the same as the children’s song “Tōryanse,” it’s easy to remember.

If you were watching in real time back then—as I was—you could never forget the shock when this song started playing in the anime itself.

“Curry no Uta,” an insert song in the wildly popular series Minami-ke’s third season, Minami-ke Okaeri, is sung by the lovably hopeless pretty boy Hosaka—who radiates a uniquely peculiar presence in the show—and the youngest of the main sisters, Chiaki.

In any case, it’s fair to say this is Daisuke Ono’s one-man showcase in his role as Hosaka, and the fact that the song was born from Ono himself ad-libbing on top of lyrics written in the original manga is just fantastic.

As for why the lyrics are composed of curry spices—I’ll leave that unexplained here.

Please watch the series and feel for yourself the well-meaning kindness of Hosaka, who ends up being called the “Curry Fairy” by Chiaki!
