It was the coupling song of Galaxy Express 999 released in 1979, and it was also used as the opening theme for the theatrical version of Galaxy Express 999.

The lyrics—about how no one knows the destination, yet we should summon our courage and take off—are striking, and they fit perfectly with the scene in which the song is used.

Just hearing the intro is enough to get your body pumped—the melody is irresistible.

Mirage ThemeGodaigo13rank/position

This song was produced as the commercial theme for Mitsubishi Motors’ Mirage and released in 1977.

In addition to the Mirage commercial, it was also chosen as the theme song for the Mirage Bowl, an American football tournament.

The lyrics are entirely in English, and at first listen you might mistake it for a track by a Western artist.

It’s crafted as a friendly, pop-leaning rock song that incorporates piano sounds.

It’s a track I’d recommend to fans of Western rock from the ’70s to ’80s.

Created as the theme song for a theatrical animated film, this is a send-off anthem loved across generations.

Its lyrics, woven from both English and Japanese, and the exhilarating arrangement by Mickey Yoshino vividly capture the thrill of stepping into the unknown along with a touch of loneliness.

Released in July 1979, it is one of Godiego’s signature singles and became a record-breaking hit, topping the music show “The Best Ten” for seven consecutive weeks.

The original author, Leiji Matsumoto, reportedly said that the song’s brightness, heard during a sorrowful farewell scene, conveyed the protagonist’s hope for the future.

It’s recommended for everyone standing at a crossroads in life—be it graduation, a job transfer, or any new beginning.

In times of uncertainty, surrender yourself to this powerful melody; it will surely give you the courage to move forward.
