Ranking of popular songs by IZ*ONE, a limited-time idol group

IZ*ONE is a 12-member female idol group formed through the Japan–Korea joint audition program PRODUCE 48, consisting of nine Korean members and three Japanese members.

From Japan, Sakura Miyawaki, Nako Yabuki, and Hitomi Honda from the AKB48 Group were selected, which became a hot topic.

Although their activities were limited to a short period of two years and six months, many people were struck by the impact of their multinational group format.

This time, we present a ranking of IZ*ONE’s most popular songs!

Ranking of Popular Songs by the Limited-Time Idol Group IZ*ONE (11–20)

IslandIZ*ONE11rank/position

IZ*ONE is an idol group composed of Japanese and Korean members.

Formed through the Korean audition program PRODUCE 48, they were active for a limited period until April 2021.

A cheerful song of theirs that I highly recommend is Island.

The lyrics portray the shy feelings of a woman who hopes to be with the person she loves.

With its catchy, very bright melody, it’s perfect for anyone feeling down—be sure to give it a listen.

SPACESHIPIZ*ONE12rank/position

IZ*ONE (아이즈원) – ‘SPACESHIP’ Choreography (Close up ver.)
SPACESHIPIZ*ONE

“SPACESHIP,” from IZ*ONE’s album BLOOM*IZ, is a perfect song to fully copy because it blends idol-like cuteness with catchy choreography, composed and written in part by Kwon Eunbi.

Its hallmark is feminine, cute movements, so popping, lively motions suit the song well! Since the choreography focuses on easy-to-remember hand gestures, the paths of your arms and the precision of your fingertips are crucial.

Also, when dancing in a group, even just synchronizing the arm and hand movements will make it look polished!

The song “Beware,” which plays as the doodling BGM on the hugely popular purikura machine Q Nana Percent known for its perfectly effortless vibe! It’s sung by IZ*ONE, a 12-member Japanese-Korean girl group, and was included as the lead track on their first Japanese album released in 2020.

When you take purikura, you definitely want cute music to boost your mood, right? This pop number lifts the energy during doodle time, helping you lock in precious memories on your perfectly posed photos.

DESTINYIZ*ONE14rank/position

DESTINYIZ*ONE

IZ*ONE is a joint Japanese-Korean female idol group formed by members selected through the audition show PRODUCE 48.

Their song DESTINY, included on the 2020 album BLOOM*IZ, honestly portrays the budding feelings of students facing graduation.

A soft, enveloping melody carries the beautiful lyrics that depict scenes of fluttering flowers.

It’s a warm love song that lets you feel the miracle and happiness of having met someone you love.

Why not welcome your graduation ceremony with their clear, translucent vocals?

MemoryIZ*ONE

The third season of the popular audition program “Produce 101” featured many trainees from the AKB group and became a major topic of conversation in both Japan and South Korea.

From it, IZ*ONE was formed.

This song is a gently heartrending ballad that evokes memories of time spent with someone you love.

SO CURIOUSIZ*ONE16rank/position

SO CURIOUSIZ*ONE

The super-cute “SO CURIOUS.” It’s a track from the 2020 first full album “BLOOM*IZ,” and it became a hot topic after its first live performance at a concert.

I first heard it at a concert in Japan and was really moved! It’s a counterpart to the girl-crush song “AYAYAYA,” with Wonyoung, Yujin, Yena, Chaewon, Nako, and Hi-chan forming a unit.

Along with the fluttery feelings of first love, the choreography and the members’ charming appeal are key points—and the soft, nibble-like sound is just so adorable!

UpIZ*ONE17rank/position

[최초공개] 아이즈원(IZ*ONE) – 하늘 위로(Up) | IZ*ONE COMEBACK SHOW
UpIZ*ONE

IZ*ONE’s “Up” is the perfect song both for studying and for taking a break.

Its rhythm is comfortable, and the members’ refreshing vocals help sustain our concentration.

The lyrics, which evoke the sky and sea, ease the fatigue of learning and refresh the mind.

Their energetic, positive sound gives us the courage to face various challenges.

Singing of longing for one’s dreams, “Up” is a song that brings hope and vitality to everyone working hard at their studies.

Other than youIZ*ONE18rank/position

IZ*ONE (아이즈원) – Anyone but You (Kimi Igai)
Other than youIZ*ONE

Kimi Igai (Anyone But You) is IZ*ONE’s third single released in Japan.

Set to a digital sound, the song portrays the shock of being captivated at first meeting and the ensuing obsession so strong that even the surrounding scenery seems to disappear.

Musically, its defining feature is a rhythm that gives a slightly dark impression, expressing a possessiveness that wants to keep someone all to oneself.

The burning passion that makes you lose sight of everything else comes through, so let this song inspire you to keep making your move!

Younger BoyfriendIZ*ONE19rank/position

[Full MV] IZ*ONE (아이즈원 / アイズワン) – Younger Boyfriend (年下Boyfriend)
Younger BoyfriendIZ*ONE

IZ*ONE, the 12-member Japan–Korea joint idol group that unfortunately ended their activities in 2021.

This song was included as the B-side to their second single “Buenos Aires,” released in 2019.

It’s a cute love song about a romance with a younger boyfriend.

Songs about age-gap relationships often dwell on worries and inner turmoil about the difference in age, but this track is bright and breezy, highlighting the charms of the younger guy and delivering lyrics that make you feel, “Once you’ve fallen in love, age doesn’t matter!” It’s a refreshing listen, so I highly recommend it.

내꺼야 (PICK ME)IZ*ONE20rank/position

내꺼야 (PICK ME)IZ*ONE

‘Nekkoya (PICK ME),’ the theme song of PRODUCE 48, is an iconic track that IZ*ONE also performed repeatedly on official stages in their own version.

Many people likely remember Sakura Miyawaki at center, looking fresh yet dazzling in her school-uniform outfit.

Loved in both Japan and Korea, it’s a powerful song that, despite its casual and cute choreography, conveys a strong sense of hope for the future.
