Singer-songwriter Minami, who won the Grand Prix at the 2nd FlyingDog Audition, made her major debut in 2018.

Calling herself a “heart-driven singer-songwriter,” she is also known for her contemporary approach—streaming acoustic performances and original songs via live-streaming apps while based in the Kanto region.

In 2024, she successfully held her first concert at the Nippon Budokan, raising expectations for even greater achievements to come.

This time, we’re introducing a ranking of Minami’s most popular songs!

Kissing the machineMinami8rank/position

Released in November 2025, Minami’s “Kissing the Machine” explores the contrast between the endlessness of machines and the finitude of life, telling the story of a robot struggling to understand human love.

The arc of a being built from data encountering a kindness that defies logic—and feeling its chest tighten—prompts us to reconsider what it means to be human.

Its emotional arrangement, grounded in a rock-ballad sound, is another highlight.

How about giving it a deep, attentive listen when you want to face your own memories?

It’s an emotional piece that sings, “I might be insignificant, but I still want to live—I want a place where I belong.” It’s a song by Minami, a singer-songwriter from Saitama Prefecture, released as her debut single in 2017.

The track begins with a poetry reading, and as it progresses, you gradually find yourself drawn in.

It makes you realize, deep down, that I feel this way too—that we all carry these feelings.

It’s a moving, heartfelt ballad that really hits home.

In June 2020, she released “Ame wo Matsu,” featured here.

Her captivating, striking melody and a singing voice that blends beauty with coolness will have you utterly entranced.

It’s a fairly challenging song, but if you can sing it through, it’ll feel amazing! The chorus has some high parts, so try using your falsetto skillfully when you sing.

“Holoness,” which carries the meaning of “hollow” in Japanese, is a song about suffering in the real world, living as a fabricated version of oneself, and wanting to break free from that.

It’s a track that may give courage to those who wish to reclaim their true selves.

This moving piece comes from Minami, a singer-songwriter who streams live acoustic performances and original songs on TwitCasting.

Minami is a female singer who has worked on many anime songs.

If you’ve been keeping up with recent anime, you’ve probably heard her voice at least once.

Among her works, the one I especially recommend is Suichū Reflection (Underwater Reflection).

Centered on piano and vocals, it weaves a bittersweet, dreamlike melody throughout.

Her falsetto is not only beautiful, but also rich with emotion, making it a great pick for anyone who wants to hear heartfelt falsetto parts in an emotional track.
