There are times when you want to instantly amp up the atmosphere with a fast-paced song, right? That’s when I highly recommend singing “Blue Ambience.” Since it was used as the theme song for a romantic reality show, many of you have probably heard it.

The performers are the rock band Mrs.

GREEN APPLE and the singer-songwriter asmi.

In addition to its quick tempo, the song is characterized by rapid switches between vocal parts.

This is a song included on the first album “TWELVE,” released on January 13, 2016, known for its dark, Vocaloid-like vibe.

It’s considered a hidden gem, with a compelling structure that surges from the steady A and B sections into a powerful chorus, and features a strong sound.

Among Mrs.

fans, it’s often cited as a prime example of the band’s darker side.

The melody line isn’t difficult, so you should be able to follow the lyrics naturally.

That said, many people struggle with the wide range that hits in the chorus—if you sing the low notes gently and then try to approach the high notes with the same feeling, it can be quite tough.

For the high notes, it’s easier to sing if you fully open up your facial expression and sing with a bright face.

Try comparing the two approaches when you sing.

Risky Game, included on their third mini-album Variety, which marked their major-label debut.

The song was reportedly written around the time the band formed, and it’s a great reminder of Mrs.

GREEN APPLE’s boundless flair.

While the overall key is high, the range isn’t very wide, so even if it doesn’t match your natural key, you can adjust it to make it easier to sing.

However, because it features complex melodies that fit the ensemble and even changes time signature mid-song, make sure you thoroughly learn the structure before singing it at karaoke.

A song with a gentle yet powerful message, it’s also very popular among fans.

Although it’s a coupling track included on the 5th single “WanteD! WanteD!” released on August 30, 2017, it’s known as a hidden gem with strong fan support.

The overall vocal range of the song is A#2–D5, and it has a generally calm tone, with the verses in a low range and the chorus in a high range, clearly distinguished.

For the low notes, resonate in both your head and chest to avoid a muffled sound.

The chorus uses more breath, so relax, use diaphragmatic breathing, and try singing as if projecting your voice straight upward from the top of your head!

It’s not a lie.Mrs. GREEN APPLE82rank/position

This is a track from the album “Attitude,” released in October 2019.

It has a relaxed tempo and a classic band feel, so I think it’s relatively easy to memorize.

The vocal range is A2–D5—wide, in typical Mrs.

style—but since it’s not a song where you have to belt much, it should become easier to sing if you pay attention to where you resonate the sound! I get the impression that songs from the five-member era of Mrs.

are more challenging, with especially frequent switches between chest voice and falsetto.

I’ll explain how to make those transitions a bit easier, but the truth is, you don’t pitch with your throat—it’s basically your glabella (between the eyebrows).

If you watch Omori closely, you’ll notice his eyebrows are always raised; this expression naturally makes it easier to hit pitches.

With a blank face you can’t hold pitch and you won’t get high notes out! Simply lifting your eyebrows and facial muscles lets you “take the pitch” from the glabella, which makes singing easier.

It’s simple, so give it a try!

Shoki no Uta, featuring a memorable flute performance by keyboardist Ryoka Fujisawa, closes out the 1st album TWELVE.

It’s a feel-good number with a pop melody and ensemble set to a shuffle beat.

The catchy hook is easy to remember, and since the vocal range isn’t too wide, it’s recommended even for those not very familiar with karaoke.

That said, it’s also a pop tune you’ll want to tackle multiple times to master, as it includes many leaps in pitch and a bouncy beat that can be tricky.

Love and GinMrs. GREEN APPLE84rank/position

While Mrs.

GREEN APPLE has many refreshing songs, they also have some passionate ones.

Among them, the one I especially recommend is Koi to Gin.

The basic melody feels like typical Japanese rock, but the way the guitar solo and vocal lines ramp up in the latter half seems somewhat influenced by Prince’s Purple Rain.

For the most part, it’s a quietly sung track, but there are quite a few shouted sections toward the end.

That said, since the high notes are restrained, it’s a relatively easy song to sing as long as you can project, even if you can’t hit very high pitches.
