ORIGINAL LOVE 「MILLION SECRETS OF JAZZ」
million secret of jazzORIGINAL LOVE

Included on the second album “Kesshō” (Crystal), this track overflows with a jazzy vibe right from the intro.

ORIGINAL LOVE’s songs exude respect for a wide range of genres, often giving you the sense you’ve heard them somewhere before, and this piece is one of those.

When it was performed at a solo soul show in the past, there was a stunning display of technique: the bass line was played on acoustic guitar, looped, and sung over—an absolute goosebump moment.

ORIGINAL LOVE - Coming Soon feat. Scha Dara Parr
Coming soonORIGINAL LOVE

It’s a collaboration track with Scha Dara Parr included on the album “Hakune.” Listening to this song instantly brings back memories of youth—it’s one of those so-called “Shibuya-kei” numbers that vividly sings about the everyday lives of teenage boys and girls around the late ’80s to early ’90s, when the magazine Olive was a beloved read.

With Shibuya-kei artists becoming active again, the title “Coming Soon” feels almost prophetic, as if it foresaw the future, and it seems to carry a profoundly deeper meaning now.

In live performances, Tajima sings Scha Dara Parr’s parts all by himself—and that’s quite a sight to see.

Sunshine RomanceORIGINAL LOVE24rank/position

It’s a single by ORIGINAL LOVE, released in May 1993.

A forever-cool ORIGINAL LOVE track, updated with even more charm.

It’s the lead song from the 2019 album “bless You!”.

The crisp, flowing mood and funky, rhythmic sound lift your spirits! Even the instrumental break is ridiculously cool.

You can feel an R&B-like groove that will have your body swaying as if you’re in a music video.

It’s also a pep song packed with messages for their generation, and “Zero,” sung by Tajima—who continues to captivate listeners with his high musicality—gives you real energy.

Even the ending is stylish enough to make you want to shout, ORIGINAL LOVE is the best!

This is a track from the 4th album, “Kaze no Uta wo Kike” (Hear the Wind Sing).

With a simple rhythm reminiscent of Southern U.S.

R&B, it makes your body start dancing almost on its own.

It’s still performed frequently at live shows.

At a certain stylish junior high school, it was once sung as a choir piece, and a video of that performance was uploaded online.

Tajima himself is said to have seen the video.

A song included on Hakunetsu that’s also been performed a lot at recent live shows.

In the solo soul show, he sang while pounding on a single Dobro guitar, and the sheer power was absolutely overwhelming.

The original is a Philly soul-style track that really gets the crowd going.

Original Love “Volare!”
VolareORIGINAL LOVE

“Volare” has been covered by countless musicians, but in ORIGINAL LOVE’s version, the entire song is sung in Japanese.

Even though it’s in Japanese, it’s performed with a rich South American vibe, and you can keenly feel ORIGINAL LOVE’s deep respect for the original.

It was also used in a beer commercial, so whenever I hear this song, I can’t help but crave a beer.
