Last updated:

PINK SAPPHIRE is a girls’ band from the “Ika-Ten” scene that helped spark the band boom in the early Heisei era.

Their debut song, “P.S.

I LOVE YOU,” was chosen as the theme song for the drama “Kimochi Ii Koi Shitai!” and became a hit.

After going on hiatus in 1995, they resumed activities in 2014.

I’ll introduce their songs in a ranking format!

A hard yet poppy love song that powerfully belts out an overflow of feelings for someone you adore! It’s the debut single by the rock band PINK SAPPHIRE, whose popularity surged after appearing on the music show “Miyake Yuji no Ikasu Band Tengoku,” released in July 1990.

It also became a major talking point when it was chosen as the theme song for the Fuji TV drama “Kimochi ii Koi Shitai!” Ayako Tsukada’s clear, crystalline vocals and the hefty, rock-solid sound feel so good.

Some of you may have even covered this track with your band back in the day and performed it at school festivals and the like.

Every now and then, why not step away from the everyday, strum your guitar, and relive that old passion?

This is a signature song by PINK SAPPHIRE, a girls’ band that became extremely popular after appearing on the music show “Ika-Ten.” It’s a love song expressing yearning for a boyfriend who moved to Tokyo.

There was such a cool girls’ band in the early ’90s—and it still sounds fresh today.

Released in May 1991, this is PINK SAPPHIRE’s fourth single.

It is also included on their second album, “Happy Together,” released in November of the same year.

The song’s lyrics tell the story of confessing feelings to the man she likes and becoming mutually in love.

It’s a love song that expresses the sentiment: because you’re here, I can shine.

A song by the girls’ band PINK SAPPHIRE, who came from “Ika-su Band Tengoku,” a segment of the variety show Heisei Meibutsu TV that helped spark the 1990s band boom.

It’s the B-side to their second single, “Dakishimetai,” and is also included on their best-of album BEST FOR YOU ~ Single Collection.

Its catchy melody rides on a pop yet gutsy rock sound, and together with the female-perspective lyrics, it vividly conjures up Christmas scenes.

A recommended winter song where cuteness shines through its hard edge.

Love is just around the cornerPINK SAPPHIRE

It’s a song about a girl who’s decided to confess her feelings to her crush.

It’s a one-sided love song, but it also feels like a cheer-up anthem for a girl wavering over whether to confess.

I really want you to listen to it.

The guitar is kept subtle, and the pop sound is driven by lots of synths.
