Simon & Garfunkel Popular Song Ranking [2026] (1–10)
Bridge Over Troubled WaterSimon&Garfunkel6rank/position

Simon & Garfunkel were a folk-rock duo who enjoyed enormous popularity in the United States during the 1960s.
Among the masterpieces they left behind, one song resonates especially deeply—a ballad that sings of hope in overcoming troubled times.
It blends a majestic, gospel-infused sound with lyrics that evoke profound empathy.
Paul Simon described it as a song that “suddenly came from nowhere,” a testament to its inspired origin.
Its chord progression is approachable even for beginners, so give piano-and-vocal performance a try.
The comforting vocals and piano tones are sure to soothe listeners’ hearts.
AmericaSimon&Garfunkel7rank/position

A track that sings about a young teenage couple heading to New York by bus.
Released by Simon & Garfunkel in 1968, it became a hit in the United States, the United Kingdom, and elsewhere.
It has been covered by artists such as David Bowie, Sting, and U2.
April Come She WillSimon&Garfunkel8rank/position

Simon & Garfunkel, the musical duo that was hugely popular in Japan as well.
They were a group that thrived in the 1960s and are also known as artists who helped create the folk boom.
A hidden gem by them that’s perfect for spring is April Come She Will.
While it’s reasonably well-known in the English-speaking world, its recognition is low in Japan, so I wanted to highlight it.
Its soothing, calm folk sound matches the image of spring and makes for a beautiful piece.
A Hazy Shade of WinterSimon&Garfunkel9rank/position

When it comes to Western music for winter, we can’t help but point to this song.
Released in 1966 by Simon & Garfunkel, A Hazy Shade of Winter—also well known in Japan under the title “Fuyu no Sanpomichi” (Winter Promenade)—is a track many still remember as an insert song from the shocking 1994 TV drama Ningen Shikkaku: Tatoeba Boku ga Shindara.
Among Simon & Garfunkel’s works, known for their folky sound and beautiful harmonies, its most folk-rock-leaning, driving beat might be better suited to a road trip than a stroll.
In fact, the meaning of the original title differs from the Japanese title, and the lyrics, which poetically liken life to the four seasons and depict winter’s bleak scenery alongside an anxious state of mind, don’t evoke the leisurely mood suggested by the word “stroll,” but rather an almost harried sense of urgency.
If you’re driving while listening to this song, take care not to let it weigh too heavily on your thoughts!
El Condor PasaSimon&Garfunkel10rank/position

The Japanese title is “El Condor Pasa (If I Could).” It’s an Andean folk song covered by the American folk-rock duo Simon & Garfunkel.
Among S&G’s many hits, I recommend this one for the sense of expansiveness it evokes toward the sky.
