SMAP Popular Song Ranking [2026]
SMAP, who reigned at the top of the male idol scene for nearly 30 years as a national idol group.
In fact, they were quite adventurous musically—consistently embracing challenges right to the end—by using songs from up-and-coming artists, featuring popular overseas jazz players, and even releasing odd-meter dance tracks as singles.

SMAP Popular Song Ranking [2026] (21–30)

Personally, I feel a bit sad that SMAP’s singles don’t sell as well as they used to.
I understand it’s the way things are now and that songs by other idol groups are selling, but I still want SMAP to keep doing their best.
The songs aren’t as good as during their peak, but it’s impressive that they’re still selling nonetheless.
Feelings in your colorSMAP30rank/position

It might be a nostalgic piece for SMAP fans.
Released in 1994 as SMAP’s 11th single, this song was used as the opening theme for the anime “Akazukin Chacha.” The lyrics, which express pure love with the message “I’m thinking of you straight from the heart,” are truly heart-fluttering.
Give it a listen while thinking of someone special.
Incidentally, it also became a topic of conversation that SMAP member Shingo Katori appeared in “Akazukin Chacha” as a voice actor.

Hey hey, thanks a bunch—much appreciated!SMAP31rank/position

This is the 12th single released in 1994 by SMAP, a nationally beloved idol group whose breakup is still lamented today.
The song was created with the image of a “merchant from Naniwa” and is entirely in the Kansai dialect.
All the members of SMAP are actually from the Kanto region, so I wonder why they ended up singing this song (lol).
giftSMAP32rank/position

A hit song by the national idol group SMAP, it sings that your unadorned, true self is a wonderful present to me—in other words, a gift.
It’s a love song expressing deep affection, conveying that I’ll be with you no matter who you are.
The Magnificent CounterattackSMAP33rank/position

A 2015 hit song by the national group SMAP.
In 2016, controversies such as their breakup scandal stirred up turmoil, but could this song, sung before the scandal, have contained their very own ‘Splendid Counterattack’? It’s enough to make your heart race.
Can’t Stop!!-LOVING-SMAP34rank/position

SMAP’s debut work, a straightforward song that gives voice to the pure wishes and dreams of youth.
With its refreshing, hope-filled melody and gentle vocals, this piece tenderly embraces the sparkle and possibilities of adolescence.
Released in September 1991, it impressively reached No.
2 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart.
In December of the same year, the group made their first appearance at the 42nd NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, marking the first step toward their breakthrough.
It was also used as the ending theme for Beat Takeshi’s TV Tackle, winning love across generations.
Highly recommended for anyone taking a new step forward or wishing to cherish a pure heart.
MermaidSMAP35rank/position

A song by SMAP featuring a dreamy, enchanting melody line.
The poignant lyrics evoke the feeling of listening to a tale of unrequited love with a mermaid as the protagonist, gently wrapping around the listener’s heart.
You can almost see the glittering surface of the water and hear the quiet sound of waves, and some may find that bittersweet summer memories suddenly resurface.
The track reached many ears as the theme song for the 2007 World Aquatics Championships in Melbourne, and it was first included on the album “super.modern.artistic.performance,” released in September 2008.
It’s the perfect piece for a night when you want to step away from the summer bustle and quietly lose yourself in thought.
