As a quintessential guitar rock band, Straightener rose in popularity during the 2000s.

Their track “DISCOGRAPHY” features an incredibly cool bassline by bassist Hidekazu Hinata that carves out the melody.

While building a strong sense of groove together with the drums, the bass play melodically drives the song forward—an irresistibly tasty performance.

Straightener, a four-piece rock band whose name means “one who makes things straight,” was formed mainly by childhood friends from junior high school.

Their 19th single, “NO ~The Flower That Bloomed in the Wake of Life~,” the second installment in their 2015 “Emotional Trilogy,” is a lyrical rock tune that reaffirms a break from war on the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II.

Even the beautiful scenery we see has a story of how it came to be, and the message that we must not repeat the mistakes of the past reminds us of history that fades with time.

It’s a dramatic number that teaches us the importance of leaving a peaceful world for the future.

Silver Liningsutoreitenaa21rank/position

Here’s a song by Straightener that was released digitally in September.

The title, “silver lining,” in English refers to a single ray of light shining through a break in the clouds.

The melody spans a wide range, but it’s still fairly easy to remember.

The C section that comes in later has slightly tricky tonality and may be hard to pitch accurately, so it’s a good idea to practice just that part thoroughly.

The rhythm is also at a tempo that’s easy to groove to.
