In a Pocari Sweat commercial featuring Yo Yoshida and Rio Suzuki as a mother-daughter duo, the two sing “Yasashii Ano Ko” by Spitz, which was the theme song for the NHK morning drama “Natsuzora” starring Suzu Hirose.

Their harmonies are soothing, conveying both freshness and warmth.

In the ad, the song is used alongside heartwarming scenes—like them singing while playing a small toy piano, and playing in the background as Yo Yoshida ties Rio-chan’s hair.

Although only a few dozen seconds aired in the commercial, a full version has also been released, so be sure to check out their complete performance!

The Pocari Sweat commercial featuring Yoh Yoshida and Rio Suzuki doing the Awa Odori is particularly memorable.

The song they sang at that time was YMO’s “Kimi ni, Mune Kyun.” And the person who handled the arrangement and production for their cover was none other than YMO member Yukihiro Takahashi! It’s said that during the vocal recording, the two even received direct coaching from Takahashi.

With a pop, feminine arrangement, it overflows with cuteness—perfectly matching the playful dancing the two do in the commercial.

The Pocari Sweat commercial featuring Yoshida Yō and Suzuki Rio is striking for their beautiful harmonies.

The song they sing is ZARD’s “Yureru Omoi.” In fact, this track was also used as a Pocari Sweat commercial song back when it was released in 1993! The actress who appeared in the commercial then was Sae Isshiki.

More than 25 years later, the song has been brought back as a Pocari Sweat commercial theme through a cover by these two actresses.

Don’t miss their refreshing vocals that capture the feeling of summer!

Hana wa Saku (Flowers Will Bloom) is a charity song to support the recovery of areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and the people impacted by the disaster.

It was planned and produced as the theme song for a support project that NHK has been running since 2011.

The clear, pure voices of Rio Suzuki—who played the young Yae in the historical drama Yae no Sakura—and the children of the Ono Elementary School Choir in Okuma, Futaba District, Fukushima Prefecture, seem to deeply touch the heart.
