Since the start of Russia’s invasion, U2 has supported Ukraine by releasing a self-cover of their 2000 song “Walk On” titled “Walk On Ukraine” and spearheading efforts to rally support for the country.

On May 8, 2022, vocalist Bono and guitarist The Edge visited Ukraine and performed an arrangement of Ben E.

King’s classic “Stand By Me,” presented as “Stand By Ukraine.” The song was performed together with members of the Ukrainian band Antytila, inspiring many people across Ukraine.
