Dear me, who couldn't become anyone.porifo

If you listen to it when you’re overwhelmed by loneliness, it might just keep you company.

It’s a track by PolyphonicBranch, aka Porifo, released in 2019.

The sharp guitar phrases and bouncy drum beats leave a strong impression—an addictive rock number.

The lyrics, overflowing with feelings for “you,” are heartrending, yet somehow your heart feels warm by the time it ends.

It must be because “my” feelings are conveyed through the sound.

DECO*27 – Coward Mont Blanc feat. GUMI

When it comes to GUMI songs, this is the one! I’m sure many Vocaloid fans would agree.

This track, created by the Vocaloid producer DECO*27—who has also written many songs for famous artists—was released in 2010.

The lyrics candidly portray the protagonist’s emotional weakness: even though they were supposed to love that person, at some point they lost sight of their true feelings.

You can feel that pain coming through the music, and it tightens your chest.

There’s also a novel adaptation, which I highly recommend checking out as well.

The scream-like vocals pierce the heart.

This is a song by Neru, a Vocaloid producer who has also made a major-label debut, released in 2011.

It’s a hard-hitting mixture rock number that sounds incredibly cool at first listen.

However, the lyrics depict a boy’s ravaged state of mind, which makes your chest tighten.

You can’t help but relate it to yourself, wondering what the meaning of living is.

It’s included on the full album “World Domination,” released in 2013, so if it grabs you, be sure to pick it up.

Suresure / Scop feat. Hatsune Miku
barelysukoppu

A highly empathetic, emotionally stirring song.

Crafted by Scop, it was released in April 2024 and written specifically for the smartphone game “Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat.

Hatsune Miku.” Its band sound—imbued with an ennui-laden atmosphere and marked by an evocative piano timbre—matches exquisitely with lyrics that portray disconnects with others and loneliness.

When your heart feels overwhelmed, this song is sure to resonate.

SecretMIMI26rank/position

“Secret” / feat. KAFU
SecretMIMI

It’s a song that moves your heart on a quiet night.

It’s by MIMI and was released in July 2022.

Despite its light, airy melody, it somehow carries a hint of melancholy that really sinks into your chest.

The lyrics, which seem to validate feelings of loneliness, are highly relatable.

When your heart feels muddled, this song will surely stay by your side.

Pamelabarūn27rank/position

A heart-stirring track where driving, high-speed rock energy coexists with a bittersweet ache.

Released by Balloon in October 2021, the song topped the VocaColle rankings and reached a million views just 17 days after its debut.

Centered on themes of nighttime loneliness and false love, it portrays a protagonist struggling to move forward while bearing a pain like a hole blown through the heart.

flower’s almost-tearing vocals ride an arrangement that fuses guitar with electronic programming, conveying emotional turbulence directly.

It’s a song you’ll want by your side on nights filled with sadness—one to listen to when you need a gentle companion.

EpilogueNaisho no piasu28rank/position

“Epilogue” is a work by Naisho no Pierce, released in September 2024.

It expresses the deep sorrow of lost love and a ended relationship through Kafu’s transparent vocals.

The structure is striking, starting quietly and gradually building in emotion.

Its emotional progression is so powerful that it moves the listener to tears.

It’s sure to resonate with anyone who has experienced parting or loss.

How about listening to this piece, having a good cry, and resetting your frayed mood?
