It’s a song included on WANDS’ second album, “Toki no Tobira,” released in 1993.

It was originally put out as a collaborative single by Miho Nakayama and WANDS.

In the album version, Keiko Utoku provides the backing vocals.

It’s well-known, and its lyrics, perfect for weddings, are especially appealing.

WANDS is strongly associated with the image of an idol-style rock band, but vocalist Show Uesugi’s true persona—complete with a nose piercing and chains—was aimed squarely at a hardcore heavy metal direction, so he was reportedly very perplexed by the J-pop path they took after debuting.

He later referred to his time in WANDS as his “idol era,” and after leaving the band, he grew a beard, shaved his head, got tattoos, and moved toward his original direction.

WANDS’ vocalist Uesugi is really handsome and cool, isn’t he? There aren’t many bands that are both visually striking and musically cool.

This song is unlike any other—the way it starts off quietly and alone feels so poignant, and it’s one of my favorites.

It makes me want to listen to it by myself.

The Sun’s SighWANDS25rank/position

An unreleased song included on the best-of album “BEST OF WANDS HISTORY,” released on June 9, 2000.

It’s a refreshing rock ’n’ roll track that sings of yearning for wind-like freedom amid the reality that one cannot live alone.

This is the first single created after vocalist Sho Uesugi and guitarist Hiroshi Shibasaki left the band, with Jiro Waku newly joining.

Miho Komatsu was brought in to write and compose the song.

Because their vocal timbres are similar, it doesn’t feel too out of place, but with the departure of two core members, the band began to decline from this point.

Even at such a turning point, it’s a song with a beautiful melody.

This song cheers you on, telling you to believe in your dreams and in yourself.

It acknowledges that you may waver at times, but the lyrics seem to insist that if you run your hardest for your own sake, there’s no dream you can’t achieve.

Thanks to this song, the author was able to feel a little more confident.

I think this is a song many people know from DEEN, but did you know there’s also a version sung by WANDS? For those who don’t, it’s a hidden gem.

The vocals are as wonderful as ever and nostalgic, and even now it feels like a slightly bittersweet ballad.
