[One More Time!] Songs with the theme of revenge. Tracks that empower a fresh challenge (31–40)

Become the wind!Kori Kin’ya

This is the theme song from the anime adaptation of the classic boxing manga Ganbare Genki.

It sings about a true story of revenge: after his champion father is defeated, Genki aims to become a boxer to take revenge.

There aren’t many songs that express a revenge story this straightforwardly.

Strength is love.Kushida Akira

This is a song by Akira Kushida, released in March 1983 as the ending theme for the tokusatsu TV drama Space Sheriff Sharivan.

Its lyrics carry the message that true strength lies not in power but in love, continuing to inspire listeners with courage and hope.

At the time of its release, it was a major hit, reaching No.

3 on Oricon’s year-end chart.

The song has since been covered by many artists and remains a beloved classic among tokusatsu fans.

It’s perfect for moments when you need the courage to face difficulties or to fire yourself up—Akira Kushida’s soulful, powerful husky voice is sure to lift you up.

My Brother, Denjin ZaborgerShimon Masato

This is the ending theme of the tokusatsu hero series Denjin Zaborger, which was also remade into a film in recent years by Itsuji Itao.

The show’s protagonist, Yutaka Daimon, had his father killed by the enemy Sigma organization, and the song is about him vowing revenge together with Zaborger.

Ojamanga Yamada-kunkoorogi’73

This is a song used as the theme for Ojaman-ga Yamada-kun.

Later, it was even made into a film titled My Neighbors the Yamadas.

At first glance, the lyrics seem to have nothing to do with revenge, but in the chorus there’s a sudden, heartfelt cry that feels like a vow to take revenge on life.

Though he doesn’t sing it himself, the composer is Masayuki Yamamoto.

It’s the ending theme of the anime “Kunimatsu-sama no O-tōridaai.” It’s an energizing song that basically says, “Don’t worry if you get knocked down—endure and make a comeback.” The title, which refers to a reversal, captures that perfectly.

The singer, Yuri Shimazaki, also performs songs with the moody vibe of G-Men ’75, yet she sings tracks like this and ones from “Hakushon Daimaō,” so the contrast is pretty striking.

Speaking of “revenge,” I think it’s most commonly used in contexts like sports—when you lose a match and want to get revenge in the rematch.

This is also the ending theme of the baseball anime “Ippatsu Kanta-kun,” a song that voices the determination to win next time even after losing a game.

Someday, spring will…Nyū Sutajio Shingāzu

Someday, Spring... — New Studio Singers — from the TV anime “Shonen Tokugawa Ieyasu”
Someday, spring will...Nyū Sutajio Shingāzu

It’s the ending theme of the anime “Shonen Tokugawa Ieyasu.” Since it’s a song about Tokugawa Ieyasu, who stuck to the idea of “Wait until the cuckoo sings,” the main theme also has that flavor.

The ending theme emphasizes endurance and perseverance even more, so I recommend it.

Its darkness, conversely, is what makes it superb.
