Player Maji

B BLUEBOØWY

A signature song released in 1986 by the legendary band BOØWY, who blazed through Japan’s rock scene in the 1980s, this track showcases a lively beat and edgy, straight-ahead groove.

Centered on the theme of “blue,” which evokes the darkness of a lonely night and a premonition of flight, Kyosuke Himuro’s lyric world blends exquisitely with Tomoyasu Hotei’s sharp guitar work.

Included on the album BEAT EMOTION, it was also used as an insert song in the film 19 Nineteen.

Its enduring appeal is evident in the fact that it’s still used as the opening for the variety show Banana Sand.

For Maji, a mixed martial artist born in 2003, the song’s overwhelming presence and uniqueness make it an ideal track to heighten fighting spirit during his entrance to the ring.

Player Uoi Full Swing

Run Soul Rungurūpu damashii

The entrance theme used by veteran mixed martial artist Fullswing Uoi is a track included on the album “Run-damashii Run,” released in December 2002 by a comic band formed by members of the theater troupe Otona Keikaku.

The lyrics were written by Kankuro Kudo, and the music was composed by Taku Tomizawa.

Featuring satirical lyrics themed around diesel cars, the song strikingly portrays environmental issues and urban traffic congestion with a distinctive sense of humor.

It’s characterized by Group Tamashii’s punk-rock style and Sadao Abe’s powerful vocals.

While it’s unusual for a combat sports entrance song to have such a comical edge, it still does a great job of firing you up for the fight.
