It’s okayberii guddoman

Berry Goodman "Daijoubu" (NHK Minna no Uta, June–July 2019)
It's okayberii guddoman

Just hearing the very first phrase of the lyrics is enough to bring many people to the verge of tears, isn’t it? The words, woven gently in time with the relaxed rhythm, slip right into the hearts of those of us who are hurting and wounded.

By repeating the simple message “It’s okay,” this song makes us realize that those are exactly the words we truly needed.

It’s a track I hope you’ll listen to when something happens, when the pain is overwhelming and you feel there’s nothing more you can do on your own.

BelieveSugimoto Ryuichi

Believe [song] Lyrics and Music: Ryuichi Sugimoto Believe Choral Piece
BelieveSugimoto Ryuichi

A signature work by Ryuichi Sugimoto, known for delivering heartwarming vocals and powerful messages, and a staple in choral music.

This piece overflows with compassion for friends and hope for the future.

Its gentle melody soothes the heart, as it tenderly embraces the resolve to believe in tomorrow after overcoming the sorrow and hardship everyone experiences.

Released in August 1998, the song became familiar as the ending theme of NHK’s “Ikimono Chikyū Kikō” (A Journey of Life on Earth).

Since then, many artists—including V6 and May J.—have continued to cover it.

It’s the perfect song for times when you’re feeling down or want to encourage someone.

It will stay close to your heart and give you courage and hope.

We’ve gotta do what seems impossible.Sambomasutā

This is a cheer song by Sambomaster that teaches the importance of believing in your potential without giving up.

With upbeat lyrics and an energetic rock sound, it delivers a ray of hope even when you feel like breaking.

It’s a warm track that stays close to the listener’s heart, giving courage and strength to move toward your goals.

Released in February 2010, it was featured in a Nissan Serena commercial.

In 2022, it was also used as an image song for the film Cheer☆Dan, touching the hearts of many.

It’s a must-hear for kids struggling with club activities or studies, people striving toward their dreams, and anyone who wants to cheer someone on.

About meMrs. GREEN APPLE

“Boku no Koto,” sung by the rock band Mrs.

GREEN APPLE, which is hugely popular among younger generations, is their eighth single, released in 2019.

In January 2021, its total streams surpassed 100 million, and it reached No.

4 on the Oricon Singles Chart.

Vocalist Motoki Omori, who wrote and composed the song, said he was mindful of not letting it become an irresponsible “Do your best.” Children have worries that adults can’t even imagine, and this is precisely a song he hopes those children will listen to.

That gentle girlsupittsu

It’s the theme song for NHK’s morning drama series “Natsuzora.” With its cool, refreshing feel, it perfectly evokes the warmth and breeze of summer.

The song’s brisk yet gentle flow is soothing even if you listen to it casually.

Since the drama is set in Hokkaido, the lyrics incorporate Ainu language, making it a very interesting piece.

Even so, its message reaches us directly and supports us gently—a truly wonderful song.

A Little Love SongMONGOL800 (kaba by Amatsuki)

“Chiisana Koi no Uta” is a song by MONGOL800 released in 2001, but the version I’m introducing here is a cover by Amatsuki, a male vocalist who primarily works online.

The original music video Amatsuki posted on YouTube became the first cover video in Japan to surpass 100 million views.

It’s an energetic, upbeat rock number, and its lyrics—sung with someone special in mind—are easy enough for even elementary school kids to understand.

It’s also perfect as a pep song for school sports days, so give it a listen!
