By genre and group size: A must-see for organizers! A catalog of crowd-pleasing activities

There are many occasions where you’re asked to put on a performance, like at wedding after-parties, year-end parties, New Year’s gatherings, and thank-you parties.

We often hear concerns from those in charge of entertainment, such as: “I can’t think of an idea,” or “What kind of act would everyone enjoy together?”

Key points for choosing are: something short and concise, enjoyable for all ages and genders, simple and easy to understand, and not vulgar.

In this article, we’ll introduce recommended entertainment ideas that meet the above criteria.

Wishing you a successful performance and a lively, memorable event!

A Year-in-Review Movie

Have you ever thought, “Before I knew it, a whole year flew by!”? Looking back at photos at times like that can really warm your heart.

How about screening a year-in-review video at events like appreciation parties or year-end gatherings? Even things that happened just recently can feel nostalgic, and it’s a great prompt to remember moments you’d forgotten in the busyness of daily life.

It’s sure to spark all kinds of emotions, get conversations flowing, and liven up the event! You’ll probably find you’ve taken more photos than you realized, so we also recommend having everyone contribute their pictures to create the video together.

Performance

human pyramid

The human pyramid is one of the most eye-catching performances in group gymnastics.

Many people probably feel nostalgic, remembering doing it at school sports festivals.

Doing it live has a real sense of presence, but filming it somewhere and showing the video is also a good option.

Since it requires teamwork, think carefully about who will take which position before you try it.

Activities and games that are fun with small groups or in team competitions

Tasting/Comparative testing of XX

Tasting/Comparative testing of XX

We’re introducing taste-testing games where you compare multiple versions of the same dish and guess each brand or variety! For example, in a ramen tasting, there are many kinds of instant ramen.

You’d sample about five types and try to identify each one.

For a company year-end party or a thank-you party, a sake tasting could be fun too—it’s a great way to test your knowledge and palate.

Just be careful not to drink too much and trouble those around you!

Name Bingo

Name Bingo

Are you good at remembering people’s names? I think many of us find it difficult.

It can be hard to start a conversation if you don’t remember someone’s name, and there are plenty of situations where not being able to recall it feels rude.

So how about trying “Name Bingo” as a chance to learn names? First, make your own bingo cards and write down the names of the people present.

Then, instead of calling out numbers like in a lottery, names are announced and you mark them off your card.

It’s even easier to remember if the person whose name is called stands up and gives a brief greeting!

Treasure Hunt

[Event Game] Since it was the end of the year, we did a jumbo treasure hunt game like this. Super easy♪ How to make an event game? Event diary
Treasure Hunt

How about a treasure-hunt game that anyone can enjoy right away, without complicated instructions? It’s relatively easy to prepare, and you can add gameplay elements—like “Get a prize if you can do XX!” or including some duds—not just handing out whatever is found.

You can also freely tailor it to the participants! While it’s a game everyone can join, it doesn’t have strict rules that force participation, so it’s a relaxed activity for those who are able and willing to take part.
