Our storyGReeeeN

GReeeeN – Bokurano Monogatari
Our storyGReeeeN

This is a song created by GReeeeN for the 92nd All Japan High School Soccer Tournament, released as a single in November 2013.

The lyrics are striking for their deep questions about the meaning of one’s existence and the value of life.

It emphasizes the importance of living strongly with the belief that “dreams come true,” even when facing difficulties.

It’s a heart-stirring cheer song that I’d especially recommend to students currently dedicated to soccer.

ONE−for the winNEWS

It was included on NEWS’s 2014 single “ONE -for the win-.” The song was produced as the theme for Nippon TV’s broadcasts of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Centered on themes of hope and unity, it expresses the sense of togetherness within a soccer team.

It reached No.

1 on the Oricon Weekly Singles Chart, marking the group’s 16th consecutive No.

1 since their debut.

Beyond the realm of sports, it conveys the importance of people working together.

JUMPIkuta Rira

This song was written as the official theme for Fuji TV’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

The fresh vocals of Lila Ikuta—YOASOBI’s singer who also performs solo—and the exhilarating, fast-paced sound evoke the image of players slicing through the wind on the field.

We only get to see their dazzling performances, but behind them there must be relentless, blood-and-sweat effort.

Let’s honor these athletes and cheer them on warmly from in front of our TVs!

UEFA Champions League Anthem

UEFA Champions League Anthem

This is the anthem of the UEFA Champions League, the tournament that determines the strongest club team in Europe.

A distinctive feature of the song is that its lyrics interweave English, French, and German.

This is undoubtedly another goosebump-inducing piece for soccer fans.

Brazilian National Anthem

Brazilian National Anthem

The singing of national anthems is one of the highlights of the FIFA World Cup, and it’s fascinating to distinguish each country’s distinctive melody.

At the 2014 World Cup, the host nation Brazil’s anthem became a hot topic.

There’s a time limit for national anthems at international soccer matches, and Brazil’s anthem is too long to fit within it.

Normally the music would be cut off partway through, but at this tournament, after the accompaniment ended, the supporters and players continued a cappella and sang it all the way to the end.

The atmosphere was so moving that some players sang in tears, making it one of the tournament’s standout moments.

Often sung as a cheer song, its samba-style rhythm energizes matches.

In the J.League, supporters of Júbilo Iwata and Urawa Reds use it.

It was also used for a time as an interlude on the TV show Yabecchi FC.

It’s also a song that was produced for the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France.

Fútbol México 70Los Hermanos Zavala

“Futbol Mexico 70” – Official song for the World Cup 1970
Fútbol México 70Los Hermanos Zavala

This is the official theme song of the 1970 FIFA World Cup, a brilliant fusion of Mexico’s musical culture and its passion for soccer.

Incorporating elements of mariachi and ranchera—traditional Mexican music styles—the sound heightens the festive atmosphere and sets the heart racing.

The tight-knit performance and rich harmonies of the 12 siblings of Los Hermanos Zavala added even more splendor to the excitement of the tournament.

This classic, which captured the hearts of soccer fans around the world, is perfect not only as background music for watching matches, but also as entertainment at sporting events and as a party anthem.
