We’re putting together a playlist featuring the exciting lineup for Japan’s premier summer festival, SUMMER SONIC 2016!

SUMMER SONIC 2016 Performing Artists (41–50)

Born SlippyUnderworld

Underworld – Born Slippy (Nuxx)
Born SlippyUnderworld

Underworld is a British electronic music duo.

This track begins with a dreamy atmosphere, but partway through a satisfying four-on-the-floor kick drum comes pounding in.

Be sure to dance at Summer Sonic as if you were in a club.

Weezer – Say It Ain’t So (Live on the Honda Stage at the iHeart Radio Theater in LA)
Say It Ain’t SoWeezer

Weezer, often described as “crybaby rock” for their emotional songs, is a four-piece rock band from the United States.

This track also has a lyrical atmosphere that stirs the emotions.

I’ve heard that the vocalist, Rivers, is a Japanophile, and the Kumamon sticker on his guitar is just adorable.

Haha

[Alexandros] – Wataridori (MV)

This refreshing song with high, clear vocals is “Wataridori” by [Alexandros].

Since around 2012, their popularity has steadily grown, and now they’re a four-member rock band loved by a wide audience, even headlining domestic festivals.

Their live shows are incredibly cool, so I definitely recommend seeing them.

By the way, during and after concerts, vocalist Yohei Kawakami throws his guitar picks into the crowd, and he’s so good at it that even people far away might be able to catch one.

Haha.

The Revelationcoldrain

coldrain – The Revelation (OFFICIAL VIDEO)
The Revelationcoldrain

coldrain is a five-member Japanese loud rock band, and in recent years they’ve gained popularity overseas as well, even embarking on international tours.

Their heavy guitar riffs and the vocalist’s shouts make for an incredibly cool sound.

The clean vocals in the chorus are also very beautiful, and that contrast is truly appealing.

Not reflected in the eyesindigo la End

indigo la End – Not Reflected in Your Eyes
Not reflected in the eyesindigo la End

Formed in 2010, this band is led by Enon Kawatani, who also serves as the vocalist and guitarist of Gesu no Kiwami Otome.

Unlike Gesu no Kiwami Otome, their appeal lies in songs with a classic, straightforward rock vibe.
