The Backstreet Boys are a globally popular idol group.

Their song “Soldier” was used on the ATP Tennis World Tour in 2014 and 2015.

Among their catalog, it’s relatively on the minor side, so many of you may be hearing it for the first time.

Although it was released in 2013, the melody still feels completely fresh today.

Elliott Yamin, who has released a variety of songs mainly in R&B, is the artist behind “Wait For You,” which was used during the ATP Tennis World Tour in 2012.

Here is the theme song from a series that was serialized in a shōjo manga magazine from 1973 to 1975 and again from 1978 to 1980, and later adapted into an anime.

Just hearing this song—considered a forerunner of sports-driven, gutsy shōjo manga—may bring back fond memories for some.

Kumiko Osugi, who sang this track, also performed the theme song for the volleyball-themed TV anime Attack No.

1, which was a hit at the time, and she was celebrated in the 1970s as one of the “Four Kings of Anison.”
