Make it with toilet paper rolls! Exciting, fun, and easy handmade toys (11–20)
glasses

Let’s make stylish glasses using a toilet paper roll.
Flatten the roll, then place one strip of tape horizontally and two strips vertically.
Make cuts along the roll, leaving the taped sections intact.
Add two vertical strips of tape on the back side as well.
Open the cut roll back into a tube shape, and on one side only, cut out the central square.
Open the roll so that the circular parts become the lenses of the glasses.
Finally, use a bendy straw to create the earpieces, and you’re done.
Use your favorite patterned tapes to design your own original pair of glasses!
Zooming bullet train

Here’s how to make a Shinkansen that kids love.
Prepare vinyl tape in the color of the Shinkansen you want to make.
Shape a toilet paper roll into a square, then cut two slits about 5 cm down from the top.
Fold the sides inward, cover the cut sections from above, and secure with tape.
On the back side, make four slits about 2 cm deep, fold them inward, add a lid, and tape it down.
Make two of these to complete the front and rear cars of the Shinkansen.
For the middle car, make four slits about 2 cm deep on both sides, fold them inward, add a lid, and tape it down to finish.
Use vinyl tape to add the Shinkansen’s design.
Attach hook-and-loop fasteners at the coupling sections, and you’re done!
Spin-and-switch face-changing doll

Let me show you how to make a fun doll whose expression changes when you spin it.
Prepare two toilet paper rolls.
First, we’ll make the outer body with one roll: cut out a rectangular window about one-third down from the top.
This will be the window where the inner face shows, so draw the body on the outside with a pen.
Next, take the other roll and make a vertical cut about halfway down, then insert it into the body piece you just made.
Now, align it with the outer window and draw various facial expressions on the inner roll.
Spin it around, and your doll with changing expressions is complete!
Flying grasshopper

Let’s make a hopping grasshopper you can craft and play with! Use green construction paper to make the grasshopper’s legs and antennae, and tape them symmetrically to the sides of a toilet paper roll.
Add eyes with stickers or a pen, and it’s done.
To make it jump, gently press down on the grasshopper’s rear from above with your finger and release—it will spring forward with a hop! If you also make some grass out of green construction paper and form it into a circle, you can enjoy games like seeing who can hop their grasshopper into the grass patch the fastest.
cracker

Let’s make a must-have party popper using a toilet paper roll! You’ll need a toilet paper roll, a balloon, masking tape, and small craft pom-poms.
The steps are very simple: first, tie a knot at the balloon’s opening.
Cut off about one-third from the rounded end.
Stretch the cut side of the balloon over one end of the toilet paper roll, and secure it all the way around with masking tape so it won’t come off.
Put pom-poms or finely cut pieces of paper into the tube.
Pull back on the knotted end of the balloon and let go—if you hear a pop and the contents fly out, it’s done.
Put the contents back in and you can play over and over!
