TOTALFAT’s famous and popular songs

Let me introduce songs by TOTALFAT, a four-piece melodic core band.

They’re like the textbook example of melodic hardcore: relentlessly upbeat, catchy, and bursting with speed.

With twin vocals that switch leads depending on the song, a left-handed rhythm guitarist, a lead guitarist wielding a Flying V, and drums set up completely flat, they’re a band with serious visual punch as well.

Beyond those traits, the sheer coolness of their songs is a huge part of their appeal.

From tracks that make you want to sway your body to ones that make you want to jump, their music has a remarkable power to move the hearts and bodies of the audience.

It’s well known that they’ve been bandmates with KEYTALK and Good Morning America since their high school days.

In particular, the drummer Bunta is said to have even lived with Tanashin from Good Morning America for a time.

Now, enjoy the high-energy tunes of TOTALFAT!

TOTALFAT’s famous and popular songs (11–20)

DamageTOTALFAT

TOTALFAT 『Damage』(Short ver.)
DamageTOTALFAT

This track really lets you feel the heavy metal that’s one of TOTALFAT’s roots.

The contrast between bassist-vocalist Shun’s growled vocals in the A section and guitarist-vocalist Jose’s clean voice is great.

Also, pay attention to Kuboty’s guitar solo—it’s more metal-esque than ever.

TOTALFAT’s music is gritty yet beautiful.

I don’t hear this kind of sound much in today’s music.

It really makes me think, “That’s so TOTALFAT.” Their melodies and vocals are clean and polished, but what’s inside is fiery.

I think they’re a band that’s easy to support from both women and men.

BalanceTOTALFAT

This is “Balance,” included on the 2008 album “ALL THE DREAMER, LIGHT THE DREAM.” It’s a fiery track full of the brisk speed characteristic of melodic punk.

Jose’s high-tone vocals in the chorus feel especially great.

NOTHING BUTTOTALFAT

Starting with a very melodic hardcore-style guitar riff intro, this song is included on the first album, End of Introduction.

The lyrics about heartbreak are striking, and despite the intense performance, the track carries a certain bittersweet feel.

It was also included on the best-of album released in 2013 and remains a fan favorite that’s still performed live.

It’s the kind of song that’ll have crowd surfers popping up one after another.

Just hearing the intro already sends the excitement through the roof.

It’s short, but packed with a sense of speed and really satisfying to listen to, giving off a classic punk vibe.

The final lyrics being sung in Japanese also feels very much like TOTALFAT’s signature style.

World of Glory with JOE INOUETOTALFAT

This one’s also a live staple: “World of Glory.” The song’s charm is, above all, the chorus’s straight-ahead, full-throttle drive.

It’s a refreshing and cool track.

And behind the high notes in the chorus, Kuboty’s tapping guitar licks are absolutely top-notch.
