Written for Anton Weidinger, the developer of the keyed trumpet capable of playing chromatically across the entire range, the work fully showcases the appeal of his innovative instrument.

This is the Trumpet Concerto in E major by Johann Nepomuk Hummel.
Like Franz Joseph Haydn’s Trumpet Concerto in E-flat major, Hob.
VIIe:1, it was written in 1803 for Anton Weidinger, the inventor of the keyed trumpet.
Although the original key is E major, it is often performed in E-flat major today to make it easier to play on modern trumpets.

Grand March is a march composed by Soichi Konagaya.
It was written in 1996 for a selected band in Shizuoka Prefecture and attracted attention after being published by De Haske in the Netherlands.
The piece opens with a brilliant trumpet fanfare, and when the lower voices of the trombones and horns join in, a majestic sonority unfolds.
True to Konagaya’s background as a percussion specialist, the percussion writing really shines in this piece.
