Wonderful game music

[Game Music] UNDERTALE’s masterpiece. A BGM that leaves a mark on the heart.

When discussing the appeal of the indie game UNDERTALE, what captivates everyone is its exquisite array of soundtracks.

From “Battle Against a True Hero,” which heightens the tension of combat, to the wildly popular “MEGALOVANIA,” and the playful “Bonetrousle,” the music brilliantly conveys each character’s personality.

Every track leaves a deep impression on the player’s heart.

Here, we present the moving and exhilarating music of UNDERTALE.

[Game Music] UNDERTALE’s Masterpieces: Unforgettable BGM (21–30)

Dummy!

This is the battle BGM for the Punsuka Mannequin.

It’s a cute, upbeat track whose vibe feels rather out of place for a battle scene, but that mismatch actually heightens the unease.

It doesn’t seem like it’ll be easy to defeat…

Power of NEO

This is the BGM that plays during the battle with Mettaton NEO.

It really feels like a battle theme—the tense, on-the-brink atmosphere comes through strongly and gets you pumped up.

It just repeats a short melody over and over, but it’s oddly memorable, isn’t it?

Spear of Justice

This is Undyne’s battle BGM.

“Undyne” is spelled U-n-d-y-n-e, which comes from the English reading of the water spirit Undine.

The track is an arrangement of the ruins stage theme, “Ruins,” and if you halve the tempo it’s almost “Ruin.”

This is an arrangement of ‘Once Upon a Time.’ It’s the BGM that plays when you create a new save file.

I think the Famicom-like sound really captures the game’s atmosphere.

The tones are reminiscent of Mario.

Once Upon a Time

This is the background music that plays during the tutorial, featuring a relaxed, fantasy-like atmosphere.

This piece is often used as a leitmotif in other tracks that play throughout the game, and you can hear arranged versions of it in various scenes.

Tem Shop

This is a track that plays in ‘Tem Shop.’ While UNDERTALE features many beautiful pieces, this one has a BGM that evokes old-school games.

The lively sound of two overlapping monophonic melodies almost sounds like someone stepping to the beat.

Temmie Village

This is a track that plays in ‘Temmie Village.’ While a male and female voice keep the rhythm, cute childlike voices and birdsong layer on top to add accents.

In many ways, it’s the kind of BGM you won’t forget after hearing it once.
