How about a cute handmade basketball game? First, make a basketball hoop by attaching decorated paper cups—adorned with heart-shaped paper or stickers—to an empty box.
Next, cut a slit at the front of the box and insert a plastic spoon.
Put cute candies, like heart-shaped chocolates or ramune, into a bottle cap and place it on the spoon.
Launch it, and if it lands in the paper cup, you’ve scored a big success.
With adorable decorations like hearts and sparkles, it’s sure to make for a heartwarming Valentine’s Day.
Chocolate hunting game

If you’re playing in a slightly larger indoor space like a school or after-school facility, how about turning a treasure hunt into a chocolate hunt? If you’re playing in a single room, you can simply search for chocolates hidden at random.
If the space is larger, it’s also fun to make it like a puzzle-solving game—follow clues as you solve riddles to find the chocolates.
If there are many participants, split into teams and cooperate to search for the chocolates.
Valentine’s gift raffle

A Valentine’s gift-pulling game where you place a box on a table, attach a long string to it, and reel the string in toward you to see who can pull the box in the fastest.
If you pull too quickly, the balloon on top will fall off, so you need to be careful—but the key to the game is to pull quickly enough to reach the goal as fast as possible.
Since it’s for Valentine’s Day, try placing a heart-shaped balloon on top of the box.
Heart-shaped balloons are less stable than regular round ones, making it a bit more challenging—but it should make the game more exciting.
Arranging Chocolates
This is a recreation activity using chocolate-themed stickers from a 100-yen shop.
Those stores have lots of cute stickers, right? Especially around this season, if you get chocolate stickers, prepare prompt cards by combining about three to five types of stickers tailored to participants’ ages and interests.
The game is to see who can quickly arrange the stickers to match the card.
Set a time limit, and if the winner gets some chocolate, it’ll be even more exciting!
Deliver the Heart Game

Let’s try the “Send Your Heart” game, where you throw a heart toward a photo of your favorite star and have them “receive” it! People of all ages likely have an oshii—someone they support—like an idol, actor, or character.
If kids are playing, choose idols or popular anime characters; if you’re enjoying this at a senior facility, pick classic movie stars or singers they loved when they were young.
You can also run a survey beforehand to ask participants who they like.
It’s also nice to have hearts in various sizes to throw!
In conclusion
We introduced some recreational activities perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Games featuring chocolates and hearts help create a special Valentine’s atmosphere.
Why not spend some time getting excited together while enjoying delicious sweets? You’re sure to make Valentine’s memories that are a little different from the usual!
