The way the arrangement builds as it progresses is incredibly emotional, and the tones of traditional Japanese instruments that appear at key moments really linger in the ear.

The lyrics, which reflect on a precious person who is no longer here, are heart-wrenching.

It might be perfect to listen to on a cold winter day when you’re feeling lonely.

After graduation, the beloved promised, “I’ll come for you.” But no matter how much time passes, they never appear.

Just imagining what’s going on in the protagonist’s heart is enough to make you cry.

I bet some of you can tell whose song it is just from the title.

It’s a track by the humor-filled music unit “Ie no Ura de Manbo ga Shinderu P,” released in 2019.

Set to a driving rock sound, the lyrics depict a battle of wits between a phantom thief trying to steal a goose that lays golden eggs and a detective working to stop them.

And of course, since it’s an Ie no Ura de Manbo ga Shinderu P piece, it’s totally out there.

Hatsune Miku’s versatile vocals—ranging from high tones to rapid-fire delivery—convey that bittersweet emotion toward a beloved person.

It’s a passionate Vocaloid piece where Miku’s mechanical timbre intertwines with electronica.

This is a track by Matsukasa, who produces hip-hop numbers with a unique worldview.

The lyrics are horror-themed, yet the song’s fantastical atmosphere draws you in—“Classmates.” It’s said to sample the soundtrack from the bishoujo game “Dōkyūsei.” Hatsune Miku’s steady, rhythmic rap seems to exquisitely shape the song’s world.

There are all kinds of people, but we’re all classmates.

That fact, and an ineffable mood.
