Vocaloid producer Chinozo gained popularity in 2018 with their first posted Vocaloid track, “Ginga Shoujo.” Then, “Diva,” released in 2023, was chosen as the image song for ROUND1.

Its pop sound, which makes full use of Hatsune Miku’s VOCALOID timbre, has an addictive quality that makes you want to listen over and over.

It also shares an irresistible groove with “Goodbye Sengen,” released in 2021.

It’s an easy-to-listen-to track, so it’s recommended even for people who don’t usually listen to Vocaloid.

Catchy !?r-906

Catchy !? / r-906 feat. Ci flower
Catchy !?r-906

It’s a highly sophisticated piece that gives the impression of “refined music.” The track is by r-906, a well-known Vocaloid producer famous for the hit “Manimani,” and it was released in March 2023.

It was submitted to VocaColle Spring 2023 and ranked 6th in the TOP 100.

The drum’n’bass sound with a pared-down palette of tones is almost too stylish.

It’s crafted so well your body starts keeping time on its own.

It really reaffirms how well slapped bass pairs with a four-on-the-floor beat.

The vocal work, tuned to make the Japanese lyrics sound like English, is also outstanding.

Silent Night AliceMiyamori Bungaku

Silent Night Alice / Miyamori Bungaku feat. Tsumugi Kasukabe, China Usagi
Silent Night AliceMiyamori Bungaku

An irresistibly jazzy, hip-hop-infused track.

Released by Fumiaki Miyamori in November 2024, this song features lyrics that portray a strong will to live authentically amid the bustle of the city.

The back-and-forth rap between Tsumugi Kasukabe and Usagi China is incredibly cool.

The cool, slightly languid sound arrangement is another highlight.

Highly recommended for a nighttime walk through the city.

A song brimming with hope that makes you feel, “There’s no time to stand still!” This work is a collaboration between 40mP and Hifumi.

Released in July 2023, it’s an original track written for Leo/need, a unit from the mobile game Project SEKAI COLORFUL STAGE! feat.

Hatsune Miku.

The sparkling band sound and humming seem to lift your spirits, and Miku’s bright vocals fit the lyrics perfectly.

2D Dream FeverPolyphonicBranch

[Hatsune Miku] Nijigen Dream Fever / Two-Dimensional Dream Fever feat. Hatsune Miku
2D Dream FeverPolyphonicBranch

Some of you might associate Vocaloid songs with “mix-up rock full of dizzying twists and turns.” PolyphonicBranch (aka Polipho) released the track “2D Dream Fever” in 2012.

By 2015, it had surpassed one million views on Niconico, making it a massively popular song.

The vocal lines—extremely hard for human singers to imitate—embody the quintessential “this is Vocaloid!” feel.

You’re overwhelmed by the sheer power the whole time, and before you know it, you’ve been swept all the way to the outro.

It’s also been novelized, so check it out if you’re interested!

Wanderlustsasakure.UK

The Wanderlust feat. Luka Megurine

This song is by sasakure.UK, one of the leading Vocaloid producers who has continued to be active at the forefront of the Vocaloid scene and has also worked on pieces like “Tondemo Wonders” and “Future Eve.” It was released in February 2009.

The work is characterized by its unpredictable song structure and avant-garde sound that incorporates chiptune.

Even back then, it already had that distinct “sasakure.UK sound,” which is great.

Even now, long after its release, it still feels “new.” A remake version was uploaded in 2019, so if you haven’t heard it yet, definitely check it out!

atriumR Sound Design

Atrium/R Sound Design feat. v flower - Atrium

This is a translucent-sounding Vocaloid track that draws you in with its sophisticated guitar tones.

It’s by R Sound Design, the Vocaloid producer also known for works like “Teikoku Shoujo,” and it was released in 2018.

The side-to-side swaying arrangement feels incredibly pleasant.

The sound image pairs perfectly with v flower’s rounded vocals—it makes you want to close your eyes and listen.

If you want the audio, it’s included on the album “Delights,” so consider purchasing it!
