[Newer] Summary of Hall of Fame Vocaloid Songs

A Vocaloid born in 2007, best known for Hatsune Miku.

With the spread of the internet, it developed mainly on Nico Nico Douga.

These days, it’s not uncommon for J-pop star artists to have a background as Vocaloid producers.

Many people have probably fallen in love with the endlessly fascinating world of Vocaloid!

Among those Vocaloid tracks, I’ll be focusing on songs that have surpassed 100,000 views on Nico Nico Douga—known as “Hall of Fame” entries.

I’ve tried to pick newer songs that, at the time of adding them, haven’t yet reached the 1,000,000-view “Legend” status.

Enjoy discovering your personal favorites and the tracks that are poised to explode in popularity right now!

Flywayhalyosy

Flywayhalyosy

For those who love harmonies, Flyway is also highly recommended.

This song was written by halyosy for the music-game unit Leo/need.

On YouTube, there’s a version sung by Kagamine Len and KAITO.

The lyrics center on the theme of two friends wishing for each other’s happiness.

It’s a ballad meant to be listened to while thinking of someone important to you.

Another highlight is how beautiful the harmonies sound thanks to the contrasting timbres of the two voices.

Evasion of the EndHiiragi Magnetite

Hiiragi Magnetite – Terminal Escape / Hatsune Miku
Terminal Escape: Hiiragi Magnetite

Mr.

Hiiragi Magnetite, who has been garnering attention mainly on Nico Nico Douga, has released his third work, “Shūen Tōhikō” (Terminal Escape).

One of the standout features of this piece is its lyrics.

Written with kanji usage reminiscent of the Taisho era, the lyrics depict the travels of a certain woman.

Many of the phrases that appear are seldom heard in recent years, which lends the song a somewhat modern impression.

Another key point is that the journey being portrayed seems to symbolize something.

Give it a listen while letting your imagination wander.

Heart rate pairingYukino Ito

Don’t you think songs with lyrics that only work because they’re sung by a Vocaloid are wonderful? With that in mind, I’d like to introduce “Heartbeat Pairing.” This is the fifth release by Yukino Ito.

Set to a brisk tempo, it sings about the excitement of romance and the longing you feel for someone special.

What I want you to notice is that the lyrics are written from Hatsune Miku’s perspective.

Throughout the song, there are expressions unique to Vocaloids—like comparing a heartbeat to BPM, and more.

HydrangeaLonePi

Hydrangea – LonePi feat. Utaune Yuki
Hydrangea LonePi

“Hydrangea” is a medium-tempo ballad themed around a fading love.

The title means hydrangea, and the song expresses a range of emotions throughout.

It might be easier to grasp if you listen while picturing the colors of hydrangeas.

The characteristically downbeat sound typical of LonePi is also part of its appeal.

Although the song is heartbreaking, for some reason it’s relaxing to listen to.

Please experience that mysterious feeling for yourself—you’ll find it addictive.

Emotional Deceivero-aru

The second Vocaloid song by Ro-aru, who works as a Vocaloid producer under the name “Self-Reincarnation P.” It’s the track that gave them their first entrance into the Hall of Fame, and it also took first place in the Rookie category of VocaColle Spring 2022—a bona fide hit tune.

The ensemble is brimming with drive, featuring tight guitar cutting and a commanding bassline that even non-Vocaloid fans can’t help but get absorbed in.

With a pop melody riding on a funky arrangement, it’s an addictive Vocaloid number of exceptional quality.

Previously active under the name Gogo-no-Koucha (Afternoon Tea), Aogiki Gou is a Vocaloid producer who now engages in a variety of activities such as game commentary and performance videos.

This is his 25th Vocaloid track.

The song has entered the Hall of Fame and reached a million views on YouTube, and from the opening’s catchy guitar riff, you can’t help but be drawn into its world.

Its catchy yet exhilarating melody and high-velocity ensemble boast a level of polish that would make any rock fan stop and listen.

The groove created by the guitar’s cutting mixed with brushing is irresistible, making it a rock tune that makes you forget it’s even a Vocaloid track.

Greetings, all gathered here.Uhana Roku

Heads together, greetings to you / Uhanaroku ft. Hatsune Miku
Lining up, best regards — Ubana Roku.

A track by Vocaloid producer Rokuhana Uka, who has gained popularity for lyrics focused on the emotions of junior and senior high school girls and a guitar rock–driven sound.

It’s the artist’s first song to enter the Hall of Fame, a rock tune that makes a powerful impact from the guitar-featured intro.

The trademark dark, cynical lyrics and wistful melody, combined with a tight band sound, really leave a mark.

With a catchy quality you can’t forget once you’ve heard it and an alluring depth of darkness, it’s a message-heavy number that becomes quite addictive.
