Vocaloid songs that start with 'Ma'

The recent Vocaloid scene has seen an explosion of libraries, hasn’t it?

New voicebanks like KAFU and RIME have become the latest trends, and the Synthesizer V version of Kasane Teto—long beloved as a UTAU voicebank—has also arrived.

That feeling of music’s possibilities expanding non-stop is just irresistible!

So, in this article, I’m going to introduce works whose titles start with “Ma.”

The fact that we can even organize things this way shows just how big this music genre has become.

Be sure to check it out to the end!

Madpupa

Mad / Can or cannot
Madpupa

Mad, produced by pupa, was released in August 2024.

Its downcast yet majestic arrangement, rooted in electronica, is striking.

Though it’s under two minutes long, it still delivers a strong sense of satisfaction.

The way the love-and-hate-laden lyrics mesh with the overall tone is remarkable, too.

Turn up the volume to feel the emotional surges even more intensely.

Magical sceneryryuryu

[Hirohako] Magical Scenery / ryuryu feat. Hatsune Miku
Magical sceneryryuryu

“Mahou no Keshiki” was produced as the winter tourism campaign song for “Hirohako,” a project that energizes Hirosaki City in Aomori Prefecture and Hakodate City in Hokkaido.

Written and composed by ryuryu, an artist active in the Vocaloid scene since the late 2000s, the song portrays themes of beautiful natural scenery and cityscapes, conveying a message of looking ahead and overcoming cold and loneliness.

Accompanied by a laid-back band arrangement, Hatsune Miku’s clear, transparent voice evokes the feeling of a cold winter’s day.

It’s a Vocaloid track perfect for listening to slowly during the season when pure white snowy landscapes spread far and wide.

Magisawotaku

Magisa (Magisa) / wotaku feat. Hatsune Miku
Magisawotaku

A song themed around a witch, just as the title suggests.

The lyrics are filled with words of fear, and the sound drives forward with force.

The terrifying scenes it conjures up are chilling, and the songwriter’s choice of words is superb—a perfect match for the sound and a true masterpiece.

It’s a highly recommended track that never gets old, no matter how many times you listen.

It was released on a video site in 2019.

mafiawotaku

Mafia / wotaku feat. Hatsune Miku
mafiawotaku

As you can imagine from the title, it’s a dirty piece.

It’s a track by the Vocaloid producer wotaku, also known for works like “Gehenna” and “Noel,” released in 2020.

The way the song structure and sound arrangement feel like they’re gradually closing in on you is really cool.

Elements of hip-hop, jazz, and EDM intertwine exquisitely, giving the track real depth.

It’s only about three minutes long, but perhaps because of its musical density, it leaves you with a strong sense of satisfaction when it ends.

Magicyanagamiyuki

Yanagamiyuki, who continues to craft a one-of-a-kind worldview.

His new track that seems poised to become a signature song is “Mahō” (“Magic”).

Set to a downtempo, EDM-style sound, it features rapid-fire vocals.

The lyrics have sparked various interpretations, but it appears to treat VOCALOID as a magical presence, singing of its limitless possibilities.

It’s not only beautiful, but also a piece that prompts reflection on the future of the Vocaloid scene.

Marginal Soulyou-man

Marginal Soul … Meika Hime MEIKA HIME | Marginal Soul
Marginal Soulyou-man

“Marginal Soul,” a song using the Vocaloid Naruka Hime—known for her plum-inspired motif and soft vocal tone.

This popular track is by Vocaloid producer youman, recognized for songs like “R.I.P.,” “Weenie Walker,” and “Rostalgy.” It moves from a mysterious, quintessentially Vocaloid-style A melody into a straightforward, catchy chorus, then flips into a chaotic midsection where the rhythm almost slips away.

The whole piece gives you goosebumps.

It also seems like the kind of song that would keep listeners totally engaged at karaoke!

Marmalade Sunsetasunaro P

【Megurine Luka】 Marmalade Sunset 【Original Song】
Marmalade Sunsetasunaro P

This is a song that brings to mind a heartbroken woman.

It portrays a woman who, after a shocking breakup, understands the meaning of sorrow for the first time.

With a classic heartbreak melody and an easy-to-listen vocal setting, it’s a track you can play over and over.

The calm tone enhances the sense of melancholy.
