HeroFUNKY MONKEY BABYS

FUNKY MONKEY BABYS disbanded in 2013 and then restarted in 2021.
Their song “Hero” is their 11th single, released in 2009.
They’re known for featuring celebrities on their CD covers, and this release had a double-sided design with announcer Shinichi Hatori and former Japan national soccer player Masashi Nakayama.
The song sings of hardworking fathers as heroes.
It’s a track that likely resonates especially strongly with office workers and dads who give their all every day.

ImaginationSPYAIR

SPYAIR’s “Imagination” makes you feel like you still want to keep pushing forward, even when nothing seems to go right.
Released in 2014, this song was used as the opening theme for the anime Haikyu!!.
Even when work isn’t going well, it inspires you to think, “I need to try harder for my dreams and goals.” It carries the message: turn everything into fuel for your ambitions and keep going without giving up!
Soul RevolutionSuperfly

There are times when you’re looking for a song that really fires you up with a powerful voice and gives you a solid boost of courage, right? Those moments when you just want to feel strength and positivity without thinking about anything.
I think that’s when you’re truly exhausted.
That’s exactly when I recommend “Tamashii Revolution.” The word “powerful” fits it perfectly—it’s a track that gives you the strength to push forward.
It’s also strongly associated with being the theme song for soccer on NHK in 2010, serving as a support song for the FIFA World Cup.
SpecialSUPER BEAVER

SUPER BEAVER is widely loved across generations for their many uplifting anthems with empowering, positive lyrics.
The song “Special,” included on their 2022 album Tokyo, became a hot topic for its powerful, one-take music video.
While it’s not specifically a “work song,” it’s one I especially recommend to those overwhelmed by work or worried that their efforts aren’t being rewarded.
It’s a track that seems to understand your hidden efforts and unspoken feelings as you give your all each day, and it inspires you to keep going from tomorrow onward.
BEAUTIFULTakahashi Yuu

When you’re working hard, there are times when you’re suddenly hit by a hard-to-describe emptiness, as if you’re all alone.
In moments like that, Yu Takahashi’s “BEAUTIFUL” is a song that lights a small lamp in your heart and tells you, “You’re not alone.
You’ll be okay.” Included on the album “Koshikata Yukusue,” this track’s gentle acoustic guitar and strings resonate deeply.
You push and push yourself, then fail and feel devastated, yet you grit your teeth and keep going alone because you believe you have to solve it yourself… Without even noticing, you build a shell around yourself, end up isolated, and your heart gets dragged further into the dark.
When that happens, listen to this song—it will pull you out of that lonely darkness and truly recognize how hard you’ve been trying.
Weekly Good-Luck DayJanīzu WEST

Released in 2021 as Johnny’s WEST’s 15th single, “Shūkan Umaku Iku Yōbi.” Even the title alone gives you a positive feeling, and the song was also used as the theme for the drama “Gekikaradou,” starring group member Teruki Kiriyama.
With lyrics and composition by Takashi Yamaguchi of Sambomaster, it’s a convincingly powerful, upbeat track.
It’s an encouraging song that lightens your heart when you listen, and even when you’re worried, it makes you feel like “Well, it’ll be fine!”—time will work things out.
The Land of ‘Good Job’ (Otsukaresama)Saitō Kazuyoshi

Many of you may recognize the song “Otsukaresama no Kuni,” which was featured in Takeda Pharmaceutical’s Alinamin commercial.
This song, which sings about the feelings contained in the simple phrase “otsukaresama” (“good job”/“thank you for your hard work”), has a gentle quality that lets you breathe a little easier when you’re tired or struggling with work.
The music video also shows people from various walks of life working—selected through a public call for submissions—and it’s encouraging to see that “everyone’s doing their best.” It’s a highly recommended motivational song to listen to when you’re feeling worn out.
