A collection of Western songs with titles starting with “J”

When it comes to songs with titles that start with “J,” do any come to mind?

We don’t usually pay much attention to the first letter of a song title, so it might be hard to think of one right away.

That said, there are plenty of English words that start with “J,” like “Joy,” “Just,” “Jet,” and “Jesus.”

In this article, I’ll introduce many songs with titles that begin with “J,” regardless of era or genre.

By exploring music from a perspective you may not have tried before, you might discover some new tracks.

Granville is a French pop band formed in January 2011.

The members are vocalist Mélissa Dubourg, singer-songwriter and guitarist Sofiane El Garrafi, plus a bassist and a drummer, making it a four-piece.

Influenced by 1960s pop, the band is known for songs with a somewhat nostalgic feel.

They released their debut single, “Jersey,” in June 2012, followed by their debut album, “Les Voiles,” in February 2013.

They haven’t seemed very active publicly since then, but they’re a very tasteful band, so we’re excited to see what they do next!

Just the two of usGrover Washington Jr.

“Just The Two of Us” is a track included on saxophonist Grover Washington Jr.’s album “Winelight,” featuring Bill Withers as a guest vocalist.

It’s a standard that’s frequently performed in jam sessions and the like, and a renowned classic that’s very well known among musicians.

The phaser-treated Rhodes piano and the alto sax tone sound irresistibly mellow.

The contrast between the calm intro leading into the A section and the tight, punchy chorus is just unbelievably cool!

Habib Keïn, an R&B singer from Bordeaux, France.

While he’s labeled R&B, his take on the genre is highly original: with a few exceptions, his songs are crafted with an acoustic sound.

Among his works, “Juste un sourire” is one that particularly emphasizes R&B characteristics.

It’s a sophisticated piece that blends a contemporary R&B vibe with the acoustic feel of his guitar playing.

Be sure to check it out.

JambalayaHank Williams

The Carpenters’ pop version was a hit in Japan, but the song was originally a country tune by Hank Williams.

Since it uses only two chords, it’s perfect for practice.

There are many covers as well, which can serve as useful references for arranging.

Heavy, hard-hitting tracks are compelling because you can really feel their power.

With that in mind, let me introduce “Judgement Day.” It’s a song produced by the Dutch music producer Hardwell together with the duo Sub Zero Project.

I’d like you to pay attention not only to the sound but also to the lyrics.

In fact, the song sings about the arrival of Judgment Day, which is a bit scary.

Keeping that in mind as you listen will make the sound feel even more intense and impactful.
