SZA, who is celebrated both at home and abroad not just as the premier R&B singer of our time but as a defining artist in the music scene, continues to soar.

Her surprise second album SOS, released in December 2022, has been a record-breaking hit, and its lead single Kill Bill remains a long-running success.

A new remix of Kill Bill has now dropped, featuring her close collaborator Doja Cat delivering a melodic rap.

Their chemistry was already proven with their smash hit Kiss Me More, and here they draw out fresh charms in the track.

Be sure to check out the pixel-art music video too, which appears to tie directly into the song’s title and lyrical inspiration!

Kiss Of LifeSade

Sade, who has created numerous wonderful classics through lean song arrangements centered on Sade Adu’s mysterious and alluring smoky alto voice, remains a rare artist whose every release—though few—has become a global hit.

The song I’m introducing today, “Kiss of Life,” appears on the 1992 album Love Deluxe and was released as a single the following year.

Despite its simple structure built on just two chord progression patterns, it becomes a beautiful piece through melodic variation and a skillful band ensemble.

And although it’s a ballad, it has none of the damp, moody atmosphere—rather, it boasts a refined flavor that also connects to smooth jazz, which is remarkable.

Killing MeSasha Keable, Jorja Smith

The masterpiece “Killing Me” by R&B singers Sasha Keable and Jorja Smith.

Sung by two female vocalists who represent the UK music scene, the track stands out with its stylish, slightly dark tone.

In terms of vibe, it’s somewhat similar to Sting’s “Shape of My Heart.” It’s by no means a flashy song, but refined, luxurious sounds are woven throughout.

Savor this exquisite track.

Savoy Brown – Kings Of Boogie ( Kings Of Boogie ) 1989

Led by Kim Simmonds, Savoy Brown is a long-running blues band active since the 1960s, but their individuality is somewhat weak, leaving them in a perpetual B-tier status.

Their style shifted toward hard rock in certain eras, and that direction actually has a bit more flash and appeal.
