A Hazy Shade Of WinterSimon&Garfunkel

It’s the famous Simon & Garfunkel song known in Japan as “Fuyu no Sanpomichi” (A Hazy Shade of Winter).
It was included on their 1968 album Bookends.
In Japan, it was used as the theme song for a TV drama in 1994, but since permission from Simon & Garfunkel’s side was not granted, it was released under the designation of an insert song instead.

Ruthlesssomething corporate

It was included on the album “NORTH,” released by Something Corporate in 2006.
The vocalist, Andrew McMahon, was only 19 at the time and was hailed as a genius melody maker.
While the band has many delicate emo-rock songs featuring piano, this track is one of them.
His emotional vocals resonate deeply with listeners.
I’m With YouAvril Lavigne

If you like girls’ rock, Avril Lavigne is hugely popular and well-known in Japan.
She’s known for her energetic style, but this sorrowful ballad is highly recommended.
You can also see a new side of her, so be sure to give it a listen.
LoveKeyshia Cole

She is an R&B singer from California, United States.
This song was released as a single from her fourth album in 2005.
With this track, Keyshia made her first appearance in the Billboard Top 20.
The poignant ballad and her powerful vocals are truly moving.
Fingers CrossedLauren Spencer Smith

A gem of a ballad that paints the pain of heartbreak, with a sweet, aching voice that seeps into your heart.
Lauren Spencer Smith’s soaring vocals beautifully capture the complex emotions after a breakup.
Released in January 2022, the song quickly went viral on TikTok and hit number one on the charts in Ireland and Norway.
The phrase “crossing my fingers” is especially striking, deftly portraying the futility of love’s promises.
In those moments when memories of past love make your chest tighten, listening to this song might just make your heart feel a little lighter.
RunLeona Lewis

Unfortunately, Leona Lewis also gives a strong impression of being an artist from a previous era, but even so, there are universally wonderful songs like this one.
I believe the original is by a British band called Snow Patrol, so please listen to their version as well.
Moonlight Shadow ft. Maggie ReillyMike Oldfield

It was released in 1983 by British musician Mike Oldfield.
The lyrics tell a poignant story about meeting a murdered lover again in heaven someday.
Although there were rumors that it was inspired by John Lennon’s assassination, Mike, who wrote the lyrics, has firmly denied this.
It became a huge hit across Europe.
