Me And My FriendsRed Hot Chili Peppers

A thrilling funk-rock piece by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, bursting with raw early energy.

It’s included on their third album, The Uplift Mofo Party Plan, released in September 1987—a miraculous record that, in the band’s history, was the first and only one made by all four original members together.

The sound kicks off with Flea’s fiercely undulating bass line, which is just incredibly cool, and the lyrics convey a straightforward devotion to their friends.

It’s also said that this song is about their friendship with guitarist Hillel Slovak, who passed away the following year, and knowing that background makes the depth of their bond all the more moving.

It resonates even more deeply when you listen to it as you reflect on the days you spent with irreplaceable friends.

In this commercial introducing MOS Burger’s Tsukimi (moon-viewing) menu, several limited-time items are featured with the Tsukimi Focaccia at the center.

Every item looks enticing, and the sizzling, mouthwatering visuals in the ad really whet your appetite.

For the background music, an arranged version of “Moonlight Serenade” was chosen to fit the moon-viewing theme.

While the mellow rendition by Glenn Miller is generally well known, this arrangement transforms the piece into a more up-tempo and cheerful version.

Making Love To MorganLimp Bizkit

Limp Bizkit, a band that epitomizes the late-’90s nu metal scene, released their first new song in about four years in September 2025, their first since the 2021 album Still Sucks.

The track is classic rap rock—pure Limp Bizkit—and sure to put a grin on the faces of longtime fans.

Its lyrics balance respect and sarcasm in true LB fashion, paying tribute to legendary artists like the late Chester Bennington and David Bowie while even poking fun at past controversies.

The song is also featured on the soundtrack for the popular video game Battlefield 6.

If you’re craving energetic rock, give it a listen.

Vampire Weekend – “Mansard Roof”
Mansard RoofAnimal Collective

Vampire Weekend burst onto the late-2000s indie rock scene with the unusual pedigree of being Ivy League graduates from New York.

Their style—folding Afro-pop elements into sleek pop songs—felt remarkably fresh at the time.

This time, we’re focusing on the track that marked the beginning of their brilliant career, released in October 2007.

In just two short minutes, it distills buoyant keyboards and a sprightly beat into something that feels like the pure sound of summertime bliss.

The lyrics by frontman Ezra Koenig—who crowns the title with an architectural style and captures everyday scenes with intellectual flair—are wonderful as well.

This piece opens the landmark debut album Vampire Weekend, a bona fide classic that eloquently encapsulates the band’s musical identity.

It’s a superb song I’d highly recommend when you’re in the mood for intelligent, refreshing rock.

Kings of Leon is a band with a unique background: they grew up in a strict religious household and were isolated from secular music.

They would go on to win Grammy Awards, but in their early days they wielded a raw sound rooted in Southern rock.

This track is their debut song—a little over two minutes of impulsive rock ’n’ roll that blends the grit of Southern rock with the urgency of punk.

The reckless energy and precarious allure of youth come through directly in the raspy vocals and grainy guitar tone.

Released in August 2003, the song reached number 23 on the UK charts and was also featured on the soundtrack of the film “Stuck on You.” Perfect for a drive—or any time you’re in the mood for some hard-hitting rock.

Sum 41, the Canadian band that epitomized the 2000s pop-punk scene and has announced their breakup in 2025.

Let’s spotlight a standout track from their milestone debut EP, Half Hour of Power.

It’s a thrilling number where a youthful, devil-may-care attitude—just enjoying the moment without worrying about anything else—bursts through on a high-velocity sound.

Even if it seems trivial from an adult’s perspective, the message that time spent with your friends is everything might just set your heart free.

Released in 2000, the song was also featured in the film Bring It On.

The music video, where a house party descends into chaos and rapper DMX makes a cameo, captures the playful spirit of the era.

It’s the perfect track to blast when you want to feel refreshed without overthinking.
