Compared to the original, you can tell the sound design is more minimal and tight.

A renowned ballad from the first album released after Phil Collins, formerly the drummer of the British progressive rock group Genesis, went solo.
The sound and vocals evoke a dim, shadowy space that, true to the title, conjures the night—so striking that it invites comparison to Miles Davis’s equally nocturnal “’Round Midnight.” The lyrics, with their plaintive repetition of “one more night, one more night…,” are simple yet piercing.

Released in November 2021, One Right Now is a collaboration between Post Malone and The Weeknd, two artists who command enormous support in the contemporary pop scene.
Built on a sleek synth-pop track that reflects a post-2020s trend, the interplay of Malone’s and The Weeknd’s emotional vocals and melodies creates a stunning contrast—truly exquisite.
Lyrically, however, it seems to be a message to an ex whose infidelity likely caused the breakup, conveying a sense of saying goodbye to the past relationship and already having someone new.
That said, depending on how you interpret it, it can also read as the poignant lament of a man still full of lingering attachment, unable to fully move on.
With that in mind—perhaps reading too much into it—the music video, in which the two stage a brutal shootout, feels oddly suggestive as well.

Quavo, also known as a member of the Atlanta-based hip-hop group Migos, has dropped a new track.
It appears to be a song sparked by his feud with Chris Brown, with whom he was rumored to have had past romantic drama.
The aggressive lyrics convey strong resentment and anger toward his opponent.
Yet it’s hard not to feel the deep sorrow and sense of loss of someone who, last November, lost his nephew and close partner Takeoff to gun violence.
Crafted as he worked through that personal tragedy, this powerful track might go down as one of the great diss records in rap history.
