When you think of male Western music groups, the image that comes to mind changes depending on what genres the person listens to, doesn’t it?

Whether it’s a band or a vocal group… leaving that judgment aside for now, in this article we’ll spotlight the so-called boy bands while also looking at R&B-style vocal groups, and introduce a wide range of popular male groups, both classic and contemporary!

Many of them have global hit songs—some of you might even have first encountered Western music through their tracks.

Although they’ve suffered commercial setbacks—such as canceled park performances—and are burdened with debts of €720,000, I really hope they can keep going.

I admire that piercing high-register singing, but it definitely seems to demand considerable vocal skill.

They first gained attention through their activity on YouTube, and their participation in One Direction’s tour catapulted them to fame.

Their 2014 debut single, “She Looks So Perfect,” became a global hit, and the title track of their album “Youngblood” topped the year-end chart in their home country, among many other achievements.

In 2019, they received the APRA Award for Outstanding International Achievement.

Their sound has evolved from early pop-punk to a polished pop style, and their rich harmonies—thanks to all members taking on vocal duties—captivate listeners.

They’re the perfect group for anyone seeking exhilarating band sounds and catchy melodies.

I Gotta BeJagged Edge

Jagged Edge is an R&B group formed in 1995.

While they aren’t very well-known in Japan, they’re highly popular in the United States.

There’s an award called a Gold Disc, given based on album sales, and their second album, J.E.

Heartbreak, released in 2000, earned double platinum status.

It’s exceptionally high-quality R&B, so if you like Black music, be sure to check them out!

They’re a great group to listen to when you want to lift your spirits.
