The Stylistics were formed in 1968 by members of two Philadelphia groups, the Percussions and the Monarchs.
This song was written by producer Thom Bell together with his brother Tony Bell and lyricist Linda Creed.

The Love I LostHarold Melvin & The Blue Notes

Originally, it was a song produced as a slow ballad.
When it was experimentally sped up, it became a huge hit.
American R&B and pop singer Sybil covered the song in 1993, reaching No.
3 on the UK charts.
I Thank YouSam & Dave

A song produced by Stax Records executives Isaac Hayes and David Porter.
It was recorded at Stax Recording Studios with the house band Booker T.
& the M.G.’s.
Released in 1968, it became Sam & Dave’s final major hit.

A track released as a single from Soul II Soul’s debut album, “Club Classics Vol.
