Compilation of Western songs with titles starting with “V” (71–80)
ve Got My Love to Keep Me WarmBillie Holiday

A heartwarming swing jazz tune that wouldn’t feel out of place in an old coffee shop, “I’ve Got My Love to Keep Me Warm.” It’s a song about how, even though it’s cold outside, my heart is warm—and of course, the reason is a lover’s presence.
With lyrics that shine in their simplicity and care—using a single “love” to mean both a lover and the feeling of love, and “snowing” to express that it’s snowing—the song avoids adding unnecessary notes.
Billie Holiday, who lived through an extremely hard and intense life socially and culturally, brings a voice imbued with melancholy and wistfulness—never quite exuberant—which truly resonates with the heart.

ViennaBilly Joel

A song from the famous 1977 album “The Stranger.” The lyrics feel like an older person gently offering guidance to someone younger—some say it’s Billy Joel speaking to his younger self.
Perhaps inspired by the title “Vienna,” the accordion in the interlude lends it a fitting, Viennese atmosphere.
Violently HappyBjörk

Speaking of Björk, her melancholic sound and fantastical worldview are captivating, but this music video—where she cuts her own hair—can only be described as downright unhinged! And yet it’s so cool… With this rhythm, how about using it as work BGM to keep you going and not lose to the May blues?
VIDA LOCABlack Eyed Peas, Nicky Jam, Tyga

The Black Eyed Peas, a hip-hop/mixture group that has been churning out global hits with their distinctive sound.
Released in the summer of 2020, “VIDA LOCA” has a Latin flair, as the title suggests.
The track is actually based on MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” but it’s arranged with such a strong reggae vibe that you almost don’t notice the source.
It’s a laid-back track with a curious kind of addictiveness, so why not use it as a dance number for a school cultural festival?
VernieBlind Melon

Blind Melon is a rock band popular for their classic rock and alternative rock sound.
Their song Vernie is a highly emotional number that, while not explicitly stated, centers on the theme of the deaths of a grandfather and grandmother.
The depiction of wanting someone to be by your side once more evokes the image of vocalist Shannon Hoon, who passed away due to drugs, making it a doubly sad song for fans.
Vincebus EruptumBlue Cheer

This is Blue Cheer’s debut album, released in 1968.
Their hard, heavy, and muscular blues rock sound with strong psychedelic overtones had a profound impact on later hard rock and heavy rock scenes, making them one of the most important groups in rock history.
VampireBlutengel

Blutengel is an electric music group from Germany.
They specialize in gothic songs, and themes like “blood,” “death,” “immortality,” “vampires,” and “love” appear in most of their tracks.
Their sound is perfectly suited for Halloween.
Among their works, the one I especially recommend is Vampire.
As the title suggests, it’s themed around vampires, and its distinctive melody evokes the 1980s—reminiscent of Dead or Alive.
