When we think of Halloween, we think of ghosts, right? This craft is very simple: use a sponge dauber and paint to dab onto black construction paper, and once it’s dry, stick on eye stickers to complete your ghost.
Daubers are easy to use even in younger classes, letting children enjoy finger movements and the fun of creating patterns on paper.
Even 0-year-olds can enjoy it with adult support, so please try incorporating it into your craft activities.
It’s also recommended to switch the construction paper from black to the children’s favorite colors—your ghosts will transform into a whole new look.
Dynamic Monster
@haruharo_made Halloween craft / Dynamic Halloween Monsters. You don’t have to use pom-poms—crumpled tissues work too! ⚠︎ If they’re too big, they’ll bounce with incredible force, so be careful. Fun from the moment you start! Let’s make colorful monsters! The method is super simple: mix paint with plenty of water, drop in small craft pom-poms, and place them wherever you like on a sheet of construction paper.
Then, with one hand, give each pom-pom a quick smack from above—bam! The paint-soaked pom-pom will burst and leave patterns on the paper.
Make several of these spots, let them dry, then freely stick on eyes and mouths to finish! It’s a very dynamic activity, but kids will absolutely love it—give it a try!
Halloween bag
Speaking of Halloween, getting treats is one of the big highlights, isn’t it? To make the holiday even more fun, I’d like to recommend making Halloween bags.
In this activity, you create your own original bag by cutting out ghosts and monsters from construction paper and pasting them onto a paper bag.
With a cute bag, the joy of collecting sweets is sure to double! Dive in with excitement as you think, “What design should I choose?”
Colorful Ghosts with Finger Painting
How about making colorful ghosts with finger painting? Finger painting is a technique where you paint using your fingers or hands.
This time, though, we’ll do it a bit differently: you’ll paint by touching the paint and paper through a food storage bag.
That way your hands won’t get messy.
Once you’ve roughly created a ghost silhouette, add eyes and a mouth at the end.
The impression changes depending on where you place them! For example, placing them close together can make it look like a full-body ghost, while spacing them farther apart can make it look like a close-up of the face.
Monster bag
These are monster bags inspired by characters like pumpkins, ghosts, and bats.
First, fold a rectangular sheet of construction paper into a square to get ready.
Fold the paper into a triangle, then fold the sides toward the center.
Fold one flap forward and tuck the other flap inside to form the bag.
Secure the creases with tape and punch holes in the top corners.
Attach the facial features to the bag, thread a string through the holes, and it’s done.
It’s also fun to customize what you thread through—like nylon tape or ribbon.
Why not make these with your two-year-old children? They’re fun to create and fun to display.
Monster bucket made of yarn
These are Halloween cups made with paper cups and yarn.
The method is simple: just wrap your favorite color of yarn around a paper cup with double-sided tape on it! Then add a pipe cleaner as a handle and attach face parts like eyes and a mouth to finish.
If you use white yarn, it becomes a mummy-style ghost; if you use purple or yellow-green yarn, it turns into a cute, colorful monster.
And in true Halloween fashion, they’re practical too—you can use them to hold candy!
Halloween monsters made with water balloons

That tactile sensation is said to be great for stimulating children’s curiosity and senses.
For this Halloween monster craft using water balloons, prepare water balloons, construction paper, paint, and cotton swabs.
Dip the water balloon in paint and dab it to create monsters in your favorite colors.
Once it’s dry, stick on a mouth and eyes, then use cotton swabs to add color around the monster.
Through this activity, children can learn how to adjust hand pressure and enjoy the fun of exploring colors.
