[Kindergarten] Let’s Play with Quizzes! A Collection of Recommended Quizzes for Older Kindergarteners

Here are some fun quizzes I recommend for the oldest kids in kindergarten.

The senior kindergarteners have likely experienced a lot at school and learned many things.

So I’ve gathered quizzes that focus on thinking deeply, memorization, and listening carefully to stories before reasoning.

If the children aren’t coming up with answers, try adding the idea of letting them look up the answers themselves.

It’s valuable for them to think about how to research, collaborate with friends while discussing, and learn that when they don’t understand, they can look it up.

Let’s deepen their learning through a variety of experiences with quizzes.

Animal Sounds Quiz

Animal Sounds Quiz for Kids: Can you tell which animal makes this sound?
Animal Sounds Quiz

Try to see how many you can get right! Here’s an idea for an animal sound quiz.

Listen to animal sounds and think, “Which animal is this?” and answer! For example, sounds like a dog’s “woof-woof” or a cat’s “meow” are easy to recognize, right? A variety of animals will be featured, so it could be fun to compete and see how many you can identify correctly.

As a variation, you could also show pictures of the animals and have the children imitate the sounds as they answer.

Let’s align our feelings and find the answer together! Here’s an idea for a three-letter quiz.

Quizzes are often individual competitions, but the appeal of this idea is collaborating with friends to answer.

For example, a question like “What comes to mind when you think of something sweet?” might be asked.

What answer would you think of? Each person writes one letter on a piece of paper, and when your answers match, it feels like your bond grows stronger.

Give it a try at your next event! It’s also great to share hints with each other.

The answer formed by stacking three pictures!

Stimulate your imagination! This is a quiz where you stack three pictures.

You draw illustrations on transparent sheets like vinyl, and when you layer them, a single answer appears.

For example, the first sheet has the outline, the second has the eyes and mouth, and the third has the ears—stack them, and an animal emerges.

You can also create quizzes with vehicles, buildings, and many other themes.

If you can’t find the ideal transparent sheets, using clear ziplock bags is a good substitute.

The opening can act as a handle, making them easy to use.

Trick Quiz

Here are some playful trick quiz ideas that are irresistibly misleading but super exciting! They’re funny because you answer with confidence, only to find out the reality is different.

Let’s try a quiz game like that.

For example, show an illustration that looks like rabbit ears and ask, “What do you think this is?” Once most kids answer “a rabbit,” flip open the part of the illustration that was hidden.

Out comes a picture of a flower.

You can almost hear the kids say, “What?!” and “Why?!” Embrace those reactions and keep the quiz going.

Their responses are absolutely adorable!

Show them the prompt and have them guess what it looks like.

A stuffed animal works well as the prompt, too.

With the call, “What do you think this is?”, the children will think hard and give lots of answers.

Once many answers are out, reveal the correct answer.

Knowing the answer will likely make the children even more excited.

There is a correct answer, but it’s also fine to treat all of their answers as correct.

Let’s use the quiz to bring out the children’s rich imaginative thinking.

How closely do you pay attention to your favorite friends? Here are some ideas for a “Whose Belongings Is This?” quiz.

The time children spend with their friends is an irreplaceable treasure.

Try this quiz to deepen the bonds between friends even more.

It’s a fun idea that strengthens friendships.

By recognizing each other’s belongings, you’ll test observation skills and closeness—and guaranteed, it will spark conversation.

Expanding the quiz’s scope or adding hints will make it even more exciting.

It can also be a great opportunity to boost communication at a farewell party.
