A superb modern disco tune woven from multiple layers of sound and lustrous vocals.
Hailing from Los Angeles, the disco group Dynasty released this track in 1981 from their classic album “The Second Adventure.” Produced by Leon Sylvers III, a key architect of the SOLAR sound, it showcases a perfect balance of a funky bassline and sophisticated synthesizers.
Brimming with dance-floor energy and an irresistibly catchy melody, the song features gorgeous harmonies between male and female vocals, crafting a chic, urban atmosphere.

It’s a soulfully charming, heart-stirring song.
With a warm vocal delivery, it portrays how life regains its shine through meeting a loved one.

Super FreakRick James

This is one of the quintessential funk tunes created by Rick James, a key figure in the funk world who is also known for his outrageous behavior and turbulent life.
It’s also infamous because MC Hammer later released “U Can’t Touch This,” which sampled it without permission and led to a lawsuit.
Once you hear that incredibly memorable bass line—so catchy you remember it instantly—you can’t help but feel the temptation to sample it yourself… and maybe that’s understandable.
