Hit and popular songs by a flood of circle

Let me introduce songs by the three-piece rock band a flood of circle.

They’re an incredibly cool band whose raspy vocals ride on a rock ’n’ roll sound rooted in garage rock—hailed by some as the second coming of Thee Michelle Gun Elephant.

While that gritty voice is a big part of their appeal, there’s a streak of catchiness woven into their tracks that makes them seriously addictive.

It’s their debut single, released in 2009.

The lineup is different from today’s, but the raspy yet powerful, lustrous vocals that match the distorted guitars haven’t changed at all since back then! The song has a blues-tinged rock feel and is a classic that symbolizes the beginning of this band.

Golden Timea flood of circle

Golden Timea flood of circle

Included on the full-length album “GOLDEN TIME,” released in 2014.

It is the album’s title track.

After guitarist Okaniwa, one of the original members, went missing in 2009, the band had continued as a three-piece.

They welcomed Duran, formerly of Rootless, as a new guitarist, and this song was produced with a four-member lineup for the first time in about five years.

With the added guitar, the sound gained more depth, resulting in a fresh, more distinctly rock-like intensity that AFOC hadn’t shown before.

A track that, as the title suggests, throws everything into expressing the way of life and stance of racing forward as a rock ’n’ roll band.

You can feel the passionate desire to always convey the fullest version of the present.

The mention of Shinjuku Loft in the lyrics also hints at a special attachment to that place.

Trash Bluesa flood of circle

Included on the 2015 album “Best Ride.” A song performed with piano accompaniment and acoustic guitar-and-vocal style.

A uniquely charming love song told from the perspective of trash left on the beach at the end of summer.

You can practically picture someone strumming an acoustic guitar while gazing out at the sea.

For AFOC, it has an unusually bright and refreshing tone.

BLUEa flood of circle

This song was released in 2016.

For this release, they brought in Xavier Stephenson (from Metropolis Studio), who serves as the main engineer for artists like Rihanna and Bullet for My Valentine—talk about commitment! It’s a superb track with a refreshing vibe.

STARSa flood of circle

A track included on the full album “GOLDEN TIME,” released in 2014.

The MV, with its glamorous, striking contrast of red and blue lights against a dark backdrop, features a performance welcoming new member Duran, former guitarist of The Rootless.

In response to the vocals that repeatedly howl “I’m a star,” the guitar wails and screams in turn.

It’s a song that radiates a burning rock spirit.

This is the lead single from the 2010 album “ZOOMANITY.” The music video features scenes from the album release one-man live show.

With its cool guitar riff, it’s a rock track that makes you want to go see them live, not just listen to the recording.
