THE BAWDIES' famous and popular songs (1–10)
LEMONADETHE BAWDIES

A track from THE BAWDIES’ fourth major-label album, “1-2-3.” It’s a song that makes you feel like you’re listening to Western music.
It’s reminiscent of the Beatles, yet it still distinctly conveys THE BAWDIES’ own style.
ROCK ME BABYTHE BAWDIES

This cheerful title track from THE BAWDIES’ 7th single heralds the beginning of their “second chapter,” which started after their first-ever performance at Nippon Budokan in 2011.
Written specifically as the theme song for the nationally broadcast Kansai TV/Fuji TV drama series Hungry! starring popular actor Osamu Mukai, it marked their first tie-in with a TV drama.
With the drama becoming a major hit, THE BAWDIES’ name finally echoed across the entire country, and they even made their first appearance on TV Asahi’s popular music program Music Station.
IT’S TOO LATETHE BAWDIES

This is their first single after their major-label debut, released on November 4, 2009.
You can really feel the strong influence of 1960s garage rock, as well as bands like The Beatles and The Rolling Stones.
While their roots in that music come through clearly, it’s not just that—you can also feel a distinct BAWDIES character.
HOT DOGTHE BAWDIES

With edgy sound, danceable and lively beats, and ROY’s powerful, distinctive vocals as Ba.Vo., this is an uptempo anthem that epitomizes THE BAWDIES.
It’s a must-hear, high-caliber track—quintessential, no-explanation-needed straight-ahead R&R.
I’m in love with youTHE BAWDIES

From the 2nd album released in 2008, “Awaking of Rhythm And Blues.” Personally, I think this song is a bass-driven track that starts with the bass right from the intro and keeps progressing in a very cool way.
The chorus is beautiful, and it’s a vivid, excellent song all the way through.
KEEP YOU HAPPYTHE BAWDIES

It’s a song that radiates an irresistibly bright mood that lifts your spirits just by listening, and it serves as a de facto lead track from THE BAWDIES’ second album, “THERE’S NO TURNING BACK.” Chosen as the theme song for the Space Shower TV edition of the commercial for Pocky Chocolate—a beloved snack across generations from youth to adults—it’s truly one of their signature works, possessing the power to make people of all ages happy.
KICKS!THE BAWDIES

The song “KICKS!” is packed with upbeat phrases, making it a very happy and fun track.
The music video is a visual piece depicting THE BAWDIES’ 100th-anniversary live show.
It’s delightful to watch the skeletal versions of THE BAWDIES dance comically.
LOVE YOU NEED YOU feat. AITHE BAWDIES

A collaboration no one could have imagined at the time of its release: Japan’s representative rock ’n’ roll band THE BAWDIES teaming up with Japan’s premier soul singer, AI.
It’s the first collaboration in the band’s history, produced by NAOKI from the familiar LOVE PSYCHEDELICO.
There’s a backstory that when the song was written, ROY heard a woman’s voice singing the lead in his head, and he reached out to AI as a female vocalist who could authentically express soul music in Japan.
As for the single’s B-side, which includes this track, ROY asked AI to join him in covering Percy Mayfield’s “Hit the Road Jack,” and they recorded and included it.
JUST BE COOLTHE BAWDIES

An edgy guitar riff and a groovy bassline make their presence known right from the intro—this signature uptempo track was released with the very momentum they gained from their previous work, “THERE’S NO TURNING BACK.” With its simple song structure and rhythm, it’s incredibly easy to get into, and before you know it, you’ll find yourself dancing—an irresistible, almost mysterious charm packed into one song.
THE EDGETHE BAWDIES

The 11th single, released in 2016.
As the title suggests, it’s a track defined by its sharp guitar phrases.
The music video depicts battling various versions of one’s past self, culminating in a fight against the self from ten minutes earlier during rehearsal—an intense visual piece that conveys the determination to overcome the past and move forward.
