Kep1er-unner

Formed by the finalists of the audition program Girls Planet 999, which brought together 99 contestants selected through auditions held in South Korea, China, and Japan, Kep1er relaunched as a seven-member group from July 2024.

You can enjoy rare glimpses of the members’ true personalities—as they work hard to promote their album and more—making it a must-watch for K-pop fans.

Music Story produced by ABEMA

ABEMA offers a variety of original music-themed content, and the series introduced here, “Music Story produced by ABEMA,” is a short drama that blends human drama with music, launched in 2021.

The first installment drew attention for adapting SEKAI NO OWARI’s hit song “YOKOHAMA blues” into a short drama.

As of 2024, the available episode is a drama themed around the song “Oborozuki” by the music unit “#Gakepuchi.” If you’re interested, be sure to check it out.

PROJECT 7

Among the many K-pop audition shows, PROJECT 7 stood out in particular.

It kicked off in 2024 and wrapped up at the end of the year, affectionately known by the nickname “Pu-je.” Helmed by seasoned directors including Lee Hae-in—herself a former audition contestant and the creator behind the girl group KISS OF LIFE—the show brought serious credibility.

It featured a groundbreaking format in which trainees were selected and assembled by round, effectively letting viewers take part in the production process.

If you were following in real time, it surely deepened your love for your favorites.

THE LYRICS

As the title suggests, this ABEMA original program, THE LYRICS, is content that focuses on lyrics.

It features artists mainly from the hip-hop and reggae scenes as guests and delves deeply into the lyrics of their songs.

Beyond the meanings and stories embedded in the lyrics, the artists themselves talk about behind-the-scenes aspects of the creative process, such as how the lyrics were born, allowing you to learn more about both the songs and the artists.

You can of course enjoy watching episodes featuring your favorite artists, and this show might even help you discover new favorites.

UNIVERSE LEAGUE

UNIVERSE LEAGUE is a K-pop audition program that began in November 2024.

It is the follow-up to UNIVERSE TICKET—which produced the girl group UNIS—and serves as its boys’ group edition.

Contestants include experienced performers such as alumni of BOYS PLANET (aka ‘Boipla’) and former members of TO1.

They advance while aiming to win the Prism Cup, the sole ticket to debut.

In the league format, candidates are divided into the “Rhythm,” “Groove,” and “Beat” teams.

The active-artist coaches leading each team are drawing attention, making this an audition that highlights teamwork even more prominently.

[ AMBIENCE TOUR ] sessions

“[AMBIENCE TOUR] sessions” is an ABEMA original music program where Japanese artists deliver acoustic performances at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London, UK.

Capturing the atmosphere and mood of the studio as is, the show brings out new facets of each artist.

Past guests include Hiroji Miyamoto of Elephant Kashimashi and Tomomi Shiiki of My Hair is Bad, who performed their songs in a stripped-down, singer-songwriter style that differs from their usual.

Music performed in the sacred space associated with The Beatles offers a uniquely moving experience.
